    This is one of those projects that while I think its pointless, and probably makes a near perfect game worse. I’m happy the people doing it are having fun with it. (at least I hope they are)

    I adore sdv…but that looks not great. The 2D models just turning with the player camera is jarring. I hope it’s just not for me and other people enjoy it knowing that the modders put in a ton of effort to bring this to life.

      Honestly I think it like great for what it is. I wouldn’t actually play it or prefer it to normal Stardew, but functionally it’s no worse than DOOM was.

      There’s a game called Sulfur that does their npcs this way, and honestly after 2 minutes you don’t even notice.

      The incredibly-short article explains the developers intend to add models, and that they were using billboarded sprites as a proof of concept.
