So they went through EAC, Denuvo, AnyBrain and now another AC? Surely it’s an anti-cheat issue…

For most players right now, Elytra is installed and may be running in the background, but it is not yet enforcing anti-cheat protections.

Neat, so it’s safe to assume this stuff is already reporting stuff back to HQ. Sure that’s just speculation, but why else would you run a program on your players’ PCs if it isn’t doing anything yet. Happy to be proven wrong but it’s sus.

Elytra is in a limited testing phase. We’re running it with a small group of selected players alongside our technology partners

This shit should be opt-in and be mentioned in the game EULA if that’s actively being used in customers. I hate the liberties that companies take on Windows AT KERNEL LEVEL without even asking for consent to the user, of course this is allowed by Microsoft. If this kind of shit ever reaches to Linux at some point (I hope it doesn’t) it will be time to jump to BSD kernels then.

Probably installed through Steam, not Windows.

When I tried playing the game, I was surprised to find it had 3 anticheat installers in its folders. There was Easy, which ran first. They let you play a few games with it, then Denuvo popped up and you weren’t allowed to play anymore without installing that as well. And finally there was something which wasn’t really named per say, but it was just laying there, all suspicious -like. It must have been this one.

    Well, fuck that.
