Different instances act differently. Not every deletion goes through, both ways. So often enough what’s deleted there isn’t deleted here and the reverse.

Well, according to the poor explanation given shortly after, someone did do that.
- Comment on GOG apologizes for emailing people Nazi symbols 2 weeks ago:
Not saying it was like that here, but I’m giving an example for your understanding.
Two kinds of jobs are specialists, or someone who knows what they’re doing and drones, or someone who doesn’t have to know what they’re doing as long as they get things pushed their way done.
A drone doesn’t know and doesn’t care what those symbols are, they just do their job regardless of the connotations.
A specialist knows entirely what it’s all about and makes informed decisions.
Now a company can have, among other types, drones or specialists top to bottom or a random mix. So often enough there are cases where everyone just does what they’re told without wasting a single brain cell in the process, whether as drones who just do as told or as malicious compliance officers due to various constraints.
The world is large and diverse. Situations beyond our knowledge happen all the time. Which is why I’m opting for keeping an open mind. Otherwise, should anything beyond the ordinary happen to me, reality won’t matter anymore, just these fixed expectations of public opinion.

You’re downvoted for throwing the Nazi word around like it’s cabbage. People might agree this situation was a fuckup, going full tilt on it though is an overreaction.
- Comment on GOG apologizes for emailing people Nazi symbols 2 weeks ago:
In itself, the argument is sound. A lot of media is censored specifically for China or predominantly muslim-governed countries. It’s just standard corporate bootlicking.
The context makes it awkward. For example, most of Asia neither knows nor cares about nazis because it’s not who oppressed them, so I don’t seem them having an issue with it in this sense. But then again, I’m not sure of Gog’s presence in Asia…

My presumption is that due to the original rocky start, the dude feels responsible and keeps churning out free updates instead of asking money for it as DLCs.

Weird. I read somewhere else about Microsoft naming and shaming Meta for firing 10k employees… Huh.
- Comment on What is best in life? A free Conan Exiles update that completely revamps the game's graphics and more 1 month ago:
Eh. In pve, you build and explore. In pvp, you get raided while offline. Both in PvE and pvp, your thralls/minions can fall through the map on spawn and die.
Incremental crafting progression, lots of equipment/buildings dlcs and exploring a large map where almost everything wants to kill you.
It can be fun. But only in specific circumstances. Without a server to keep the world state, the offline version resets npcs, animals, materials everywhere except your base each time you load up the game. Their official servers were apparently in maintenance mode with zero admin interaction. Private servers though, if you don’t know the owners, they usually suck.
Hit or miss really. Personally, I’m thinking Dune Awakening didn’t perform as expected, so they’re trying to pump up sales on something they pretty much abandoned until recently. Or they’re operating with minimal staff…

Looks like a pyramid scheme. “Get more people to subscribe and you get a cut of their subscription fee.”

I was told Breath of the Wild and Crimson Desert have a similar vibe, but I’m not sure as I’ve not played them.

- Comment on Warren Spector's Thick as Thieves gets a bit less interesting as it ditches PvPvE for solo and co-op play 2 months ago:
PvPvE is really just PvP, with the vE part as cannon fodder bait. Cooperation against the environment? Nah, just stalk the extraction points to murder and rob. Easier, faster, more rewards.

- Comment on This week's new PC games are a treasure trove of the scary, eerie and occult, plus a charming Star Trek game 4 months ago:
I mean. The ship management gameplay is more like fallout shelter or XCOM (newer ones) base building.
Ship combat, well, I forgot what it was like. Which kinda says a lot about how engaging it was at the time. Possibly like FTL.
Ground missions depended on officer skills for outcomes, with RNG and exhaustion components.
Each had its own thing, which makes me wonder how deep the systems really are.

What the… They’re releasing the Voyager game now? I was expecting a summer or autumn release since first look was only a few months ago and the demo was barebones.
Red alert! Raise doubts and lower expectations! We may have a shallow puddle before us.

I would like to note that while not many would care to admit it, a big draw to the game was due to the crazy, sexy vampire lady that inspired a many “I can fix her” sentiments. (and extras)
As such, in my opinion, to reach similar levels of attention, this game would require its own unique characters and care.
