Hunh. The open-source version I use does all that and more, for free. 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

Which is that? I’ve been experimenting with what it would take to auto detect ad reads in podcasts but I hadn’t come across any existing projects in my research.

        There are several to research.

        FMHYdotnet may be useful.

I guess this may ads in podcast type stuff? don’t know.

      Yeah:

In a significant threat to ad-funded shows, Spotify is testing a new feature in its app that will let users skip the ads in podcasts.

Title didn’t mention podcasts, at all.

But it says premium users, who are paying. If you’re paying, you should be able to skip ads. If they’re ad funded, they shouldn’t be charging for access. If they’re ad funded and aren’t charging for access, but Spotify is letting premium users skip the ads, Spotify should be paying them.

Yes. In podcasts. Just like Apple Music users do.

I’ve never seen podcasts in Apple Music. Then again, I don’t go looking for them. I mainly do audiobooks… and the ones I play don’t have ads. ;)

Are they blocking Spotify ads or host-added ads, a la SponsorBlock? Because I understand YT has been doing the latter for a good long while.
