I’m a big fan of the tiny local models, it’s an interesting space and even stuff that can run on an rpi in reasonable time is vastly improving rather fast while getting more efficient.
Some small local models would seem rather basic for any novel post apocalyptic prepping.

I know liking anything about AI is unpopular here. I agree with the thought that everything Meta, Anthropic and OpenAI are doing currently are a gargantuan waste of other people’s money, resources and time. Ai Data centres have no real future and if anything tools of fasicsm and surveillance capitalism IMO. Honestly I will continue not to touch frontier models for coding tasks or anything serious.
However as a free-and-open-source enthusiast, I do see some long-term value in an open stack for AI. Qwen has me quite intrigued. It may be able to teach me things and help me put together useful code I can review in detail.
