Valheim launched into Steam Early Access in February 2021 and quickly garnered attention, launching with over 500,000 peak concurrent players on Steam and still counting over 20,000 daily concurrent players at the time of writing. Now, over five years after the Early Access launch, the open-world survival-craft game is finally launching out of Early Access, with a slew of new content and a new biome in-tow.
I picked this game up years ago and kinda forgot about it.
They have consistently added new content to all of the biomes over the years and worth giving it another go if you had even somewhat fond memories.
Combat is till janky though.
I never really played it at all, it was just on sale and I’d heard it was fun, then I got sidetracked by life and never got around to playing it. Maybe sometime soon I’ll try to actually check it out!
I got it back when it launched in early access and it was already pretty fun back then. Gonna give it a whirl again soon and see all the new stuff.
Can’t wait to do the “All right, people. Let’s start from the beginning one last time” tomorrow. Starting a new save to enjoy any new early content they added since my last session about a year ago, and to earn any early biome achievements when those go live in 1.0.
Quit adter the mistlands update but still feel like I got my moneys worth.
I actually picked it back up a month ago after a year away from playing it. Had no idea a major update was on the way. Won’t make much of a difference to me, since I’m still a decent ways out from the big new endgame content and I’m not bothering to start over for any new early game content unless I end up joining friends on a new server or something. It’s been hella fun and I love the building aesthetic.

I’m interested. Please keep me in the loop if this gets any traction soon, but I can also look into getting a VPS going for a persistent server once I have some IRL things taken care of.
