SteamOS ARM now runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 handhelds! This image is only for 8 Gen 2 (SM8550) devices. If you have a KONKR Pocket FIT or AYANEO Pocket S2, don’t flash this! Stay on v1.2 with the v1.2.1 hotfix, v1.3 for you comes later as an update.
I’m curious if an official ARM-based Steam Deck is on the horizon. Switching to ARM on the Deck seems like a logical next step after the Steam Frame release.
I’m sure if AMD or Intel don’t get their act together and produce something that more efficient than whatever Qualcomm have in the pipeline, that’s what’s going to happen.
I just hope Valve will have stated by then to entice ARM native games instead of wasting performance on emulation.
Honestly I would love to see like an elite 8 styled ARM device but a huge win would be a user upgradable SSD still. It would set it apart from like the AYN line
