I found that if I hold the steam deck using my fingers and upper palm high on the deck, it creates less strain. This means my palms can’t rest on the lower half. Would this grip make it better to hold so I can rest my lower palms on something?
I printed a different but similar model, and yes, it does make it easier and more comfortable to grip. It doesn’t have to be made out of a soft or flexible material to help. Most commercial products aren’t soft.
Most of the things like this on Amazon are TPU, which is softer than PLA.
I’ll only buy them if they’re official MadCatz brand.
So I bought the smooth grips, the ones not connected by that bottom piece, and they started to slip off after like four days. I almost had my face smashed by my Steam Deck multiple times.
I sent him pictures of what he should do to make it tighter and that he omitted a third bump that’a meant to keep his case locked inti the speaker grills.
After a week or two, he offered me a replacement for free and now he has a new variant that has concave bumps. I opted for the new variant to try it out. He sent it and the replacement felt amazing. The original and his revised grips reduced the amount of numbness I usually feel after long gaming sessions. The revised grips have held tight onto the Steam Deck for more than 1 month of usage so far.

“Comfort grip” but 3D printed? Nope. You want a soft grip.

I was about to argue with you and say it might be TPU, but this looks like hard PLA to me. Soft TPU wouldn’t have a hinge in the middle. And the fact that the description doesn’t say the material is discouraging. OP, look elsewhere for a TPU grip.
