Got it, makes sense. You’d probably have to do some benchmarking first. Depending on how large the source catalog is.

So you’re using CPU offloading? Or the model’s Bonsai2 variation?

Why wouldn’t you trust a local model? I mean sure they are less intelligent but if you dont expose it publicly you should be good to go

I just bought a 32GB M6 Mac Mini that I’ll also use for local ai. Will probably use Qwen3.8-27B. Accessing it from outside my lan would happen via Tailscale.

DNS blockers work so why would I need your solution? I dont care if the sites try to reconnect cause the connection wont work nonetheless
- Comment on Self-Hosting a DNS Sinkhole is really important 1 week ago:
Nowadays the internet is pretty much unusable without ad blockers/dns sinkholes

I vibecoded my own youtube downloader that does metadata completion via deezer’s api. Before that I was using Jellyfin + Finamp, tried Picard but it a) required downloading something onto my pc b) felt clunky and took ages to complete runs. Fixed it by using a bash script for managing metadata. Now my own platform does it.
- Comment on What is your self hosted power draw? 2 weeks ago:
Hardware Haven did a video about chromeboxes running linux and their idle power draw was pretty impressive (being x86 they were sitting at 2-3w i believe)

is mining worth it for you?
- Comment on What is your self hosted power draw? 2 weeks ago:
Mine draws around 15-20 watts. I’m mostly using low-power hardware: a Rock 5b as my main server, a 2tb nvme ssd, a 2tb hdd and a Glinet travel router (fine since i live in an apartment).
