- Comment on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is Steam Deck Verified 4 days ago:
Well, let’s wait and see until the actual release.
The first part of the remake was not exactly a great port (not on the release day anyway).
- Comment on Microsoft should be terrified of SteamOS 5 days ago:
It really doesn’t. Since a few years it’s basically plug and play.

Bigscreen Beyond
Yeah, it does look pretty nice, but no Linux support, especially at this price, makes it a no-go for me. :(
- Comment on After a year in its company, I’ve done a complete 180 on my Steam Deck 2 weeks ago:
It’s great, especially the controllers - there’s nothing else like it.
And, well, it’s the only headset making any claims about Linux compatibility, which is also a big thing for me.But your concern is the exact reason I’m not sure I can recommend it.
Of course, Valve works on Valve Time, so the chances Deckard will release next month are basically the same as it releasing anytime in the next decade.
- Comment on After a year in its company, I’ve done a complete 180 on my Steam Deck 2 weeks ago:
When it originally launched, I feared it would go the same way as Valve’s previous inventions in the VR
What the hell is she talking about?
Index still gets regular updates and it still doesn’t really have any competition at its price point (Quest with its ridiculous account requirements doesn’t count).
Just because Index was not a massive success due to its significantly higher cost doesn’t mean it’s a failure, and it’s far from abandoned.
- Comment on Copyright Industry Wants To Apply Automated Blocking To The Internet’s Core Routers 3 weeks ago:
Because they can pay for that.
- Comment on Decksight, an OLED screen replacement for LCD decks, is now in crowdfunding 5 weeks ago:
Also, why do these replacement screens always insist on increasing the resolution?
The low res is one of the main reasons the Deck holds up as well as it does.
- Comment on That lawsuit against Steam’s 30% cut of game sales is now a class action, meaning many other developers could benefit 1 month ago:
Thankfully it wasn’t a great success. Almost every time they were able to only get a time-limited exclusive.
Tens (hundreds?) of millions well spent! /s
- Comment on That lawsuit against Steam’s 30% cut of game sales is now a class action, meaning many other developers could benefit 1 month ago:
Can we have a frivolous lawsuit against Epic Games Store as well?
I mean, they pinky promised to take a lower cut so everyone (including customers) will benefit, but so far only the publishers got anything out of it and customers don’t even get basic features in the EGS client.
- Comment on Black Mesa has a new Beta with 'WAY better' support for Linux / Steam Deck 2 months ago:
You keep posting that without giving any source for your claims except for some screenshot out of context.
Is this a real concern or do you just have some weird vedentta against the guy? Seiosuly, you’re in every comment section when this website is mentioned.
- Comment on Portal 2 project lead wants Valve to return to single-player games 2 months ago:
It’s usually the same reason for their best games. :)
With previous Half-Life games came Source engine and the entire Steam.
- Comment on Portal 2 project lead wants Valve to return to single-player games 2 months ago:
Sure, it’s not like their last full release was actually a single player only game.
The headline is taken a bit out of context, the guy being interviewed seems to imply he doesn’t really consider VR “single player games”.
And besides, he left Valve 7 years ago.
- Comment on Valve still waiting on a 'generational leap' for Steam Deck 2 - but it's coming 2 months ago:
It’s rumored to be for new standalone VR.
But, well, future is a long time, especially on Valve Time. ;)
- Comment on Valve still waiting on a 'generational leap' for Steam Deck 2 - but it's coming 2 months ago:
Well, let me rephrase it: it’s a completely different discussion if you want to run Windows games on ARM without ridiculous performance losses due to translation from x86.
Until we get Proton running with near-native speeds on ARM like on x86 perf/watt isn’t really that important.
- Comment on Valve still waiting on a 'generational leap' for Steam Deck 2 - but it's coming 2 months ago:
It’s a completely different discussion if you throw ARM into the mix.
- Comment on The Plucky Squire recently came out, and used the Steam Deck to represent PC 3 months ago:
Just… do it? It’s just a normal Linux underneath.
- Comment on Star Wars Outlaws Is A Crappy Masterpiece 4 months ago:
I don’t know why people are saying this is a well written article - the author seems to be bewildered that a game that looks good is bad.
It’s really not that complicated. At the end of the day it’s a game and gameplay is the single most important feature.
Just look at Breath of the Wild: it doesn’t look particularly amazing, and it runs like shit on the only hardware it’s available on.
But it’s the great gameplay that keeps people coming back for more. - Comment on Hori Announces Controller Made Specifically for Steam 6 months ago:
No vibration at all? That’s a really strange choice…
- Comment on The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Developer Sells Title 1 year ago:
Apparently it wasn’t just drama. Steam post doesn’t mention that, but it seems the dev was doxed just before making this decision. :/
- Comment on The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Developer Sells Title 1 year ago:
This is the exact type of comment that led the dev to abandon everything.
It’s not “the incest game”, the topic of incest barely even appears only if you make several specific choices in the game, and even then it’s never painted in a good light.
- Comment on [Help] Aquiring a Steam Deck in Norway 1 year ago:
Is Steam refusing to ship it to Norway, or you can’t buy it at all? Maybe you can you use some kind of package forwarder?
I used to use www.mailboxde.com back when Amazon still refused to ship Kindles directly to my country and it worked just fine.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
The cable from your main post is probably fine - cheapest, shitty cables won’t have e-marker chips (yours says it has one).
The issue is most likely with the port, like the other guy said. You should test all type-C ports, because sometimes the manufacturer lies and only one of them actually provides full power.
