- Comment on Black Myth: Wukong shows very clearly Valve are selling a lot of Steam Decks 2 months ago:
Wasn’t the steam deck OLED the incremental upgrade? I thought they did a sight spec bump along with the screen upgrade.
- Comment on Security footage of Boeing repair before door-plug blowout was overwritten 8 months ago:
CCTV cameras have a surprisingly short recording time before they record over themselves. With cheap disk storage, you’d think they could record for weeks and weeks before overwriting.

Awesome! Love Norwalk havoc
- Comment on How long do you think until AI writes and debugs code better than the average programmer? 11 months ago:
The average person who has programmed something, or the average professional career programmer? I doubt the AI will be great a dealing with the really weird bugs and conflicts any time soon.
- Comment on SAG-AFTRA Members Ratify New Three-Year Contract With Studios 11 months ago:
The studios got more in terms of AI rights than many actors would have liked, but I’m glad they got most of what they were fighting for. And I guess they’ll fight the AI training issue in the courts as well.

Probably trying to make fun of people with dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Comment on I hate that I am become this person but: are delivery drivers just allowed to call and say 'please come and meet me' now? 11 months ago:
But it’s the bosses demanding tight schedules not the delivery people. I don’t feel bad for the bosses trying to squeeze every amount of productivity out of the system at the cost of the quality of service.

That seems like an extremely chiseled jaw line on the guy for all the features to be averaged.
- Comment on Hey, the A.I said it not me. 11 months ago:
What’s the data set from? It will at least be skewed towards people most posting to the social media networks scraped for training data. I wouldn’t be surprised if foreign language social media was substantially underrepresented in the data set because the programmers putting it together weren’t as familiar with it.
- Comment on Is it disrespectful to call someone instead of answering their email? 11 months ago:
If it’s a complicated matter that could use a lot of back and forth, sometimes it’s expedient to call or share a screen rather than send a dozen emails back and forth.
But that doesn’t at all seem to be the case here. Even the email seems very unnecessary. Maybe they were trying to upsell you or something? I really don’t like it when you can only order something by calling rather than on the website, but maybe they think they can charge more or sell more if you talk to a sales person?
- Comment on Brand X 11 months ago:
Tweet because synonymous with microblogging, like Netflix and streaming for a time. Companies would kill to get that sort of brand penetration into common vocabulary.
- Comment on My PDF reader REALLY HAD to add a permanent "AI assistant" button that floats on every single file i open 11 months ago:
It gets buried in my pile of Firefox tabs, so I usually use edge. I could probably set up a different user or something to keep them separate, but I’ve been to lazy so far.
- Comment on My PDF reader REALLY HAD to add a permanent "AI assistant" button that floats on every single file i open 11 months ago:
That’s why I use edge (I know ugh) when I don’t need to comment sign or edit PDFs. I don’t want to use Firefox so it doesn’t get mixed up with all my other open tabs.
