  If your permissions in Flatseal aren’t cutting, you only have a few options then:

  1. Use ssh for the comms even if it’s localhost
  2. Allow all perms through Flatseal, which is essentially like running via sudo
  3. Don’t use flatpak and use the proper packaged version for your pm

  This is a problem with the software.

  I believe it’s showing the payload only for the portions needed to download and run. Flatpaks may have other dependencies that are met by other installs, and won’t redownload what is already present afaik.

  So if Minetest as a full install is 1.6MB, but you already have all the other pieces already installed, it just downloads the 5.8KB missing, meaning the runtime of Minetest is that 5.8, and the rest is dependencies.

  I’ve never used a terminal that had a “VHS Effect”. Who would have recorded their console on VHS and played that back? Even my old CRT machines don’t look this bad.

  He voluntarily left that community and left a lot of words behind justifying why, and I think your post falls into the trappings of things he hated about having to commune with certain people.

  It certainly seems like he wants to be left alone, so just leave him alone.
