As for the Lemmy aspect, this sub is often just a bot auto-posting articles from popular news sources on gaming. So if it’s from this community it might not actually be real buzz on Lemmy.

Why should any game (a piece of art with thousands of hours of work from developers and artists) have to ever vanish… Literally ever… I can’t think of a single reason no matter what the game is. It doesn’t matter if it was a big success or a small game on itch.
Art matters and should be preserved.

I want to point out that the reason The Crew is being pointed out and focused specifically is because it was a large game sold to 12m people and it’s a game from France, a country with fantastic consumer protection laws.
It’s being focused because it’s the game with the best shot of having legal action success NOT because it’s the most loved game of all time.

I don’t think the imitation game was a great movie I just think the story of Alan Turning was much more interesting. I also personally didn’t care for the cameo style of character run down but that’s not really something they could’ve avoided given how many people worked on it. It wouldn’t be possible to give every single one an actual character.

I love history. History is great. I do not give a single shit about this man.
“I sure don’t wanna kill people” kills people “ah damn I killed people” looks into the camera as Seinfeld laugh track plays
I would’ve loved a movie about the Manhattan project and how it all came together. Oppenheimer’s struggles meant nothing and mostly just added runtime.
A large amount of the movie just reminded me that I should rewatch The Imitation Game. A movie about someone who saved significantly more people than Oppenheimer killed and then his country murdered him before anyone even knew he existed. Alan Turing was a war hero. Oppenheimer was a little sad sometimes.

I genuinely don’t understand the hype. I saw Oppenheimer and thought it was the most average movie I’ve ever seen with a pretty coat of paint on it. I didn’t even remember half the plot when I tried to explain it to someone later that same day. Where’s all the love and awards coming from?

I can do audiobooks and such just fine, for some reason movies and shows recently have made a lot of the audio really hard to hear/understand sometimes. I watched Oppenheimer in the theater and I feel like I miss.half the dialogue in some of the louder scenes.

I used to be hardcore anti-subs but then I started to realize that a large amount of English movies are mixed in a way where you can’t understand anything that’s going on anyway (thanks Christopher Nolan) so I have subs on for everything now because I can more consistently experience the entirety of the movie/show instead of my understanding of lines being up to if the director was upset that day.
