- Comment on YouTube now lets you turn off Shorts 3 months ago:
For people browsing on mobile in the youtube app(the vast majority, i imagine), if you click a short it will take you into the shorts interface, which is designed to maximally draw users in to doomscrolling. On pc its a very different experience and easier to disengage since it just pops up like a normal video (usually?)

article goes into why Denuvo is bad but not much more (which is debatable…
I mentioned why denuvo is bad. I wasn’t replying specifically to your argument about performance, because that’s only a slice of the reason why denuvo is bad.
- Comment on Denuvo has been broken, company promises countermeasures against new DRM bypasses — zero-day game releases become norm as security concerns mount over hypervisor-based bypass 3 months ago:
Every single aspect of DRM, whether it is denuvo or otherwise, is either neutral or negative for the end user.
- Comment on What game had you like this? 3 months ago:
Celeste, sorta. It wasn’t so much that it didn’t click, I just got distracted with other things and it took a back seat for a few years. Came back to it and ended up 100%ing it (not including every golden berry) and am now at roughly intermediate/advanced skill level for custom maps

There’s no such thing as child porn, only child sexual abuse material.
But yes, its fucked up that nothing is done when chatbots are causes of death. That should absolutely also be a catalyst for change.

- Comment on Valve dev counters calls to scrap Steam AI disclosures, says it's a "technology relying on cultural laundering, IP infringement, and slopification" 7 months ago:
all you have is an name and written text (essentially making the whole idea of players liking some characters nonviable)
People have favourite characters in books and text-only games all the time - don’t sell yourself short on your ability to write compelling characters before you’ve tried and failed
- Comment on Steam Controller 8 months ago:
I knew we’d be waiting around for our friend to arrive so I took an activity with. It was to do stuff in the real world. I would’ve been taking my deck with anyway so I had something to do on the train journey, 2 controllers wasn’t an enormous amount more space.
- Comment on Steam Controller 8 months ago:
As someone who brought my deck and 2 controllers with me on a trip with my friend, I’m the person in the advert. We were killing time waiting for another friend and we just chilled somewhere we could get food and drink and played indie games

I guess it would have been more correct to write “Like-.” since that would make it clear that it was an unfinished idea. I interpreted it both as being too exasperated to finish the thought, or as leading into the following paragraph.
- Comment on Steam users in the UK will need a credit card to access “mature content” games 10 months ago:
Honestly, if they removed those games then it’d get people riled up and hopefully get them to take action against this crap

I think that its quite clear they don’t have an issue with the steam deck - they’re just voicing that it brought to light how they don’t own their games and it turned them off from buying more licenses on Steam
