Yah controller support is best it’s ever been – but many PC games still benefit with mouse-like dexterity. And for many games, the ability to add additional buttons and macros.

It’s crazy manufacturers keep releasing models without touchpads
- Comment on Nothing is requiring employees to be in the office five days a week 2 weeks ago:
I really liked the work Nothing was doing, what a bummer. “Workplace for grown-ups” my ass how condescending.
- Comment on Valve confirms it'll support the ROG Ally with its Steam Deck operating system 3 weeks ago:
They keep saying it’s coming, bazzite is pretty solid for now, but I’d really like to get an official valve iso.
- Comment on Valve confirms it'll support the ROG Ally with its Steam Deck operating system 3 weeks ago:
This is so exciting, very happy for Ally owners. Choice is a strength of PC ecosystem, and I’m confident SteamOS experience is going to win over many users. It’s a great upgrade.
- Comment on [Game] Fix For Jackbox Megapicker Corrupting Steam Decks Released - Steam Deck HQ 5 weeks ago:
Ah… so I guess the gamescope session would fail bc steam fails, and leave the user no way to change to desktop/plasma session. And yeah, steam configs would be accessible as it’s not system level. Yikes all around.
- Comment on [Game] Fix For Jackbox Megapicker Corrupting Steam Decks Released - Steam Deck HQ 5 weeks ago:
I really hope we get more details, how can a user space application brick an immutable OS? That’s crazy.

What did they do!? How??

In desktop mode make sure the SBC-XQ profile is selected for your headphones, it’s night and day difference Image
- Comment on It Takes Two does not require EA app anymore and its Steam Deck Verified now 3 months ago:
Sometimes more than twice. I just keep launching until I can eventually play my game. 60% of the time it works every time.
- Comment on It Takes Two does not require EA app anymore and its Steam Deck Verified now 3 months ago:
Interesting, I wonder how they wiggled out from the ea app requirement and if any other EA games have a chance.
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 3 months ago:
In my opinion it’s not “as good” as yuzu, for now. That said it still runs about anything I throw at it, but yuzu did it better with higher frame rates.
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 3 months ago:
Does 29% include the 99% of switch games the deck can play?

Are they serious? What a slap in the face to people that bought it.
- Comment on Best deck games for a flight? (as in...possibly running on batteries) 4 months ago:
Well lol sure, I’ll concede there’s a whole world of games that were built for spec equivalents to a smart toaster that would stretch the battery. Just nothing I’d personally want to play. We already did the 90s.
- Comment on Best deck games for a flight? (as in...possibly running on batteries) 4 months ago:
Yeah I mean I definitely have games like Notia that are 2d and happily empty the battery in 2, 2.5 hours. Guess I was just speaking relatively, 2d games I can usually minimize the tdp with no performance impacts and carry on for 4 to 6 hours, compared to any average AAA 3d game that is going to have a hard stop around 1.5-3 hours.
- Comment on Best deck games for a flight? (as in...possibly running on batteries) 4 months ago:
Most 2d games give me solid battery life. Hades, balatro, dead cells, pizza tower, streets of rage 4 all kept me entertained through cross country flights with no external power. But really you should just get a fat battery pack, it’s just plain useful for keeping all your devices topped up.

Doh why didn’t I think to do the fan while I had it open! Mine is loud as hell… Well, there’s always next time when I do the SSD I guess.

Go for it, definitely!
- Comment on Valves iFixit partnership is a game changer 5 months ago:
That’s fantastic! It should probably be a legal mandate for companies to make their parts easily available, it would reduce e-waste significantly.
- Comment on Valves iFixit partnership is a game changer 5 months ago:
I won’t lie I was super tempted to add a pro toolkit with the part order, but talked myself out of it and ended up with just a spludger and moray set lol.
- Comment on Valves iFixit partnership is a game changer 5 months ago:
Hall sticks are on my list to do eventually, that’s a great point the general upgradeability is awesome too. Appreciate the Bluetooth idea but I chose to leave the deck disassembled until the trigger comes in. The back screws inserts are molded plastic so the less times screws are removed & reinserted the better.

- Comment on How do I permanently enable the right trackpad in game mode? 6 months ago:
Finally got around to tinkering and sorry, no luck here either. I thought BPM had it’s own controller setting, but it seems like everything just maps to the desktop control scheme on the deck. Have to agree with the top comment I don’t think this is currently possible

Bummer :( I’ll poke around tomorrow and follow up if I find somethin
- Comment on How do I permanently enable the right trackpad in game mode? 6 months ago:
I haven’t tested this, but game mode I understand is basically running as big picture mode. Perhaps going to the desktop and setting up your preferences for BPM could work?
