Not that I’m aware of. I’ve never had a 4k TV.

No wonder performance has been bad! The Deck is not meant to be a 4k system.

I wish so many games didn’t default to the Xbox layout with no option to change it. Having grown up with the SNES layout, the prompts fuck me up every time.
- Comment on Nintendo faces legal action over ability to brick Switch 2s whenever they want 1 week ago:
Oh, I fully agree - banning an account is one thing, but banning at a hardware level is complete and utter bullshit. I’m arguing against using inaccurate terminology for what they’re doing, not supporting them in any way. As my username implies, I used to be a fan of theirs. They’ve always had a shady side, but since Iwata died and Reggie left, it all pure corporate greed there now.

That’s correct, a large portion of the games available will be unable to be obtained on a banned console (though previously downloaded games will still work). But some still will be, including, crucially, every first-party game, which is what people regularly say they bought a Switch 2 for. So it’s not a brick.
- Comment on Nintendo faces legal action over ability to brick Switch 2s whenever they want 1 week ago:
They can’t get game updates, but they’ll function as their base versions. If it had no way to play ANY games, that would qualify as a brick, even if you could turn it on and navigate menus. But it still has a limited ability to play some games, so not a brick, just a severely crippled console.
- Comment on Nintendo faces legal action over ability to brick Switch 2s whenever they want 1 week ago:
A brick is very specifically a device that cannot be used for its intended purpose at all. This is a banned console that has limited functionality, not a brick. The terminology matters because people are misunderstanding just how much power Nintendo has because of it. I thought that Nintendo made it unable to get past a boot screen when I first heard the term used.

I’m willing to believe he might have learned from his mistakes, but he was 27 when he did the most egregious things. More than old enough to know better. The older you are when you do stupid shit, the harder it will be for people to forgive you.

Yet you could put in a Mario Kart World game card and play the game offline. This is a console with restricted utility, but it is not a brick.
- Comment on Nintendo faces legal action over ability to brick Switch 2s whenever they want 1 week ago:
You are correct. A banned Switch 2 is severely limited in what it can do, but it is not “bricked.”
- Comment on Nintendo faces legal action over ability to brick Switch 2s whenever they want 1 week ago:
Fuck Nintendo, but restricting a console from downloading and updating games is not the same thing as “bricking” it. That’s when a console is made unable to function at all. A banned Switch 2 can still get firmware updates and play physical games (what few there are on Switch 2). The legal action is justified, but the terminology being used in these articles is incorrect.

Borderlands is shipping with Denuvo DRM (yuck), but they’re also applying Symbiote (2K’s custom DRM)
I wish companies would focus on putting out good games at fair prices instead of spending so many resources DRMing the fuck out of everything (looking at you, Nintendo).
