Considering the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch has a comprehensive list of known bugs, this patch is very underwhelming.

I agree that their games have been shit for a while, I didn’t even think F4 was good, and NV demonstrated that Bethesda shouldn’t be the ones developing the series.
F3 was great at the time, but after playing NV, you can see that Bethesda is interested in creating a very railroaded experience (pun not intended).
However, I think a TV show might be fine, seeing as though the stories of Fallout haven’t been bad; it has just been bad mechanically.

I didn’t enjoy it because it was just so damn depressing, but I can’t say it was a bad movie. It did what it aspired to.

Depends where you live. A lot of this stuff can be acquired afterwards.
As an Aussie, firearms are very hard to come across. Also, I’ve never fired a gun before, so I would pick the shotgun because I know my terrible aim would be mitigated somewhat.
Water purifier. Duh.
Fire axe. Utility + weapon.
Tent. I live close to nature, so my game plan is to stock up on nonperishables and go camp for as long as I can, and hope that the zombies have thinned out by the time I need to start savaging

People rewatch movies because they love them.
I’m about to watch the final episode of the One Piece adaptation, even though I know exactly what has happened.
The adaptation has deviated slightly from the manga, but that’s to be expected of a series known for filler.

It’s almost hard to get Fallout wrong. Unless you shove a kid into a fridge for 200 years, or retcon the creation of the super mutants.
Todd Howard is involved, so I wager they’ll get the themes right.

So Wolfire’s idea of being anticompetitive is to restrict how many features a platform may offer?
Honestly, it just sounds like Wolfire has an axe to grind. Steam doesn’t price in the features it offers, their 30% cut existed a long time before most of this stuff was added.
Something like this will never be implemented. Consider the outcome: Steam decouples the marketplace from the extra services, so they create a separate application and offer it as a free service, and creates a link between the two services. There are a hundred ways around this, and all of them inconvenience the consumer.

I still don’t see what you’re seeing.
Just to play devils advocate, what do you think Valve should do differently?
After learning more about it, I’m understanding the problem is that Wolfire (and every other developer/publisher) has a contract with Valve, in which they aren’t allowed to sell their game on another PC market for a cheaper price than Steam.
Though, I wouldn’t describe that as anticompetitive, rather, neutrally-competitive. Valve is offering a level playing field, they can take it or leave it. This is a fairly standard practice among businesses (though I understand this does not make it right).
If valve wanted to be anticompetitive they would dictate that games published on Steam are exclusive to Steam on PC.
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
Again, it just sounds like Valve is offering a good service and other companies don’t want to compete. If it’s Valves fault for providing a good service and lots of users choose to use their platform instead of others, I fail to see what they could do to rectify that.
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
I’ve never heard of Valve trying to prevent a developer from distributing their game on other PC store platforms, it’s quite an assertion.
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
If anticompetitive means “it’s your choice to enter into an agreement in which we host your game for 30%, and its distribute it on our platform, with unlimited patch updates, and unlimited user downloads, and a fuckton of features like community forums, guides, groups etc., also if your game is good we will promote it free of charge”
Then I suppose companies like Epic who choose to run at a loss, as opposed to providing a good service, have no chance, and Steam is anticompetitive.
The counter narrative exists though, Steam is just a good service, and if you want to compete with them, you need to provide a good service, like GOG.

I wasn’t strictly talking about the definition of covidiot, I was referring to the virus’ transmissibility; indoors vs outdoors.
There has been a lot of misinformation during covid, from both side, and virtually everyone needs to accept that they were wrong about certain things.
For example, I was forced to change my mind about the safety of the vaccine. I still personally believe most people should have been vaccinated, but we need to accept that it didn’t do what was expected.
At the end of the day, Covid is a respiratory virus, and the consensus of indoors vs outdoors transmissibility had been reached decades ago.
I appreciated the measured response, it’s rare to see people sincerely reflect on their beliefs so quickly without feeling condescended.

One of the most helpful mindsets I’ve adopted was accepting that I don’t want to be wrong any longer than I have to be.
