- Comment on Christopher Nolan Calls Zack Snyder’s ‘Watchmen’ a Film ‘Ahead of Its Time’: It Should Have Been Released Post-‘Avengers’ 1 year ago:
The ending was equally fine as the book, the main issue I have is that in the book, the only real super powered person was Dr. Manhattan.
A lot of things don’t make a ton of sense having all the heroes have super strength and durability.

That post was from the last election.

That’s my point though. They don’t really address how McCoy got the glasses he gave to Kirk in Star Trek II. Did he buy them? Did he just ask someone for them? Did he barter for them for services?
Same thing with alcohol, some people pull out alcohol they obtained through some back alley, black market deal. But what was traded for this black market alcohol?

Star Trek was pretty inconsistent with money. Riker often gambled for money, and they certainly treated specific items as “valuable” (historical items, weapons, and especially liquor.)
I think some of the writers just didn’t know how to picture a post-money world. But by DS9 they mostly treated things like latinum an inter-species trading valuable (especially to/from the Ferengi) or just something that’s needed in the outskirts of the Federation.

Yeah, cause software never has a weird bug like that.
Also, it’s a joke.

I’ve had six controllers connected and working on mine at once. It was a mix of Nintendo switch, wired PS3, Xbox and stadia controllers. It worked fine.
I have had 4 wireless controllers running at the same time. I believe you can do up to 7 wireless.
- Comment on Should you or should you not post multiple commands at once? 1 year ago:
The other advantage to writing a script is you can assign a “sudo rule” to your account so you can run it without typing a password.
This would set that one script as passwordless sudo, without compromising the security of other things on the server.
Of course, this is all assuming you’re doing it more than once, and in a more critical environment.
- Comment on Should you or should you not post multiple commands at once? 1 year ago:
The main problem is that if any of the commands fail, they’ll just keep moving on to the next one.
You can get around this by using the && chaining operator.
Like
apt-get install curl && curl … && apt … && …
That’ll get around the worst of copy/pasting long strings, but writing a more robust shell script is a better option if you’re doing it for anything important.
Also, if you’re copy/pasting batches of commands from the Internet, just be aware that hidden text can be snuck into command suggestions, so it’s best to copy paste into a text editor first and make sure you understand what it’s doing before you run it.
