Apparently the arm doesn’t work that well.

Roborock seems to be the nvidia of robot vacuums. They’re not always the best, but are seen as a safe choice, and they have the best app. I gave up on reading tests since apparently models are refreshed every monday, and just got a roborock.
The best vacuum is apparently the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete, and you can actually find it in stores still, but it costs like 1200 euros or something insane like that.
Tldr it’s a market for lemons, sadly. Everyone copes by getting Roborock. The one known good one costs as much as a 5080.
- Comment on The low-cost creative revolution: How technology is making art accessible to everyone 4 weeks ago:
To be fair, there’s a lot of “art” in video games that no other industry would recognize as such. Brick textures. That kind of thing. I’m perfectly okay with using AI for these necessary but unimportant tasks. Same with using stock assets. These assets just have to be good enough for nobody to notice they’re there.

Pretty much. Maybe someone at the 8bitdo JQ got an SD and discovered that the controllers all worked great?

If his shows aren’t entertaining why are so many people entertained by them? Makes no sense. People may have no taste, but that’s a different issue.
- Comment on With the Legion Go S, we can now directly compare performance between official builds of SteamOS and Windows 2 months ago:
I also wonder how much of it is RADV vs AMDGPU drivers. Wonder what the result would have been if the Deck used the AMDGPU drivers instead. Saying it is just “the magic of Linux” papers over a lot.

I think it’s what Valve has branded their fork of Wine. It translates win32 calls to Linux ones, and DirectX to Vulkan. Probably some other stuff too idk
- Comment on Best of Steam 2024 - the top performing games on steam, including best sellers on Steam Deck 7 months ago:
No, this is pro-consumer. Showing the original price and the “X% off!” sign is price anchoring designed to make you think you’re getting a great deal and to make you feel urgency to buy it now. It’s why we all have such giant collections of unplayed games.
- Comment on Why more PC gaming handhelds should ditch Windows for SteamOS - Ars Technica 1 year ago:
Yeah, Heroic or whatever just isn’t good enough. Joe Random doesn’t want that kind of jank on his gaming appliance.

As much as I love Valve I think it’d be weird for a 3rd party handheld to boot directly into the Steam UI. I get that there aren’t any viable alternatives atm, so I guess this is where we are. Wouldn’t hurt with a more store-neutral solution, in the end.
- Comment on Valve: don’t expect a faster Steam Deck ‘in the next couple of years’ 1 year ago:
Don’t play big titles on the Deck. That’s not what it’s good at. Play Fez or Tunic or something. There’s a near infinite list of great games that are not technically demanding.
