Whack, bottles it is!
- Comment on Anyone tried running GTA Vice City - Next Gen on Steamdeck? 3 weeks ago:
Do you have your own copy of GTAIV also installed? I’ll give Bottles a try, but Lutris was only struggling because the mod was unable to find GTAIV

Does it allow extensions?

Even if it dies can you still use it for a little while… It’s so much nicer than Firefox and I need mobile extensions
- Comment on [Discussion] How is your Steam Deck's battery holding up? 3 weeks ago:
I’m in the same boat with around 80%… Original 512gb and it’s spent the last few years entirely plugged in. Eventually I’ll have to use the more battery health as an excuse to upgrade to the OLED.
Have you looked at any of the OLED screen upgrades for the deck?

How were you able to get it to find gtaiv in the first place?!
- Comment on Anyone tried running GTA Vice City - Next Gen on Steamdeck? 3 weeks ago:
Did you try it with lutris or heroiclauncher? I just grabbed it myself and will install it tomorrow. I’ll follow your tricks.
As for the graphics corrupting, is that with the required changes that the F.A.Q. has? Or your own attempts?

- Comment on [Help] Unable to connect steam deck to xbox controller 1 month ago:
You can even use the TouchPad similar to the track pads on the deck! It does have dual sides to it which sometimes work, sometimes don’t (if you use a finger on both it can get confused, though it does work in desktop mode for pulling up the keyboard)
Honestly, the PS5 controller is perfect for the deck imo. You get track pad, and all the features work. You can even change the LED color without even needing a PS5.
Theyre expensive af though.

You can run VR on the deck??? This can’t include HL Alyx would it…?

Could you share an example?

I wonder how long they will be given to comply, considering Meta attempted to say they don’t even have tools in place to categorize or limit their users data for ad purposes.

In the steam decks case yeah.
- Comment on There's a reason we aren't as harsh on the Steam Deck. Actually, a couple. 5 months ago:
Yeah but a Deck is a Pc, which can absolutely run Windows. Therefore, they are the same thing. A high end PC AND a steam deck feature the “Biggest game library on earth”.
Doesn’t even have to run well. The fact that you can attempt to play it in the first place let’s it win the medal.
Any version of Playstation can’t even attempt to play half the games on a deck ;).

So continue to root for Linux? You got it! Go Steam Deck ;D.
- Comment on Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not -GamingonLinux 7 months ago:
Right on! As long as it works thats all that matters. I’m just happy that handhelds and Linux derivatives are finally getting the light they deserve.
- Comment on Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not -GamingonLinux 7 months ago:
Aren’t steam deck 64gb versions currently cheaper than that? Hell, i could easily sell my OG steam deck for 300$, but was only asking for 200.
How well does it actually run games? Isn’t the ROG still for all intents and purposes, on Windows?
- Comment on Took the plunge after 2 years, and replaced the Delta fan with a Huaying one 8 months ago:
I completely got rid of my pc thanks to this haha. I mean its my media device, I play all my games, I even do dnd from it! With my Wacom its perfect for design/drawing all that fun stuff.
I understand there are a few use cases that don’t work great on the deck, but personally… Its the best. My deck is getting a little old now, the control sticks are starting to wear out, and yet it still runs just as well as day 1. I will be buying a “replacement” soon, and likely will be able to still sell my old one for 100$ or so.

Doesn’t sound all too wild to me, except the keeping the deck on for extended periods of time… Definitely a good idea to restart it more than once a week… Hell, im very confident I have to power cycle it enough that I won’t make it to a week without a restart lol.
I am constantly switching between desktop and gaming mode, and I like to power cycle it occasionally when doing so. Primarily to prevent any bugs from popping up

I use a Jsaux dock for the deck, all of my peripherals have been plug and play. Including my 5+ year old Wacom which blew my mind. (It worked right out of the box where Windows didn’t let me properly configure it… I felt like a schoolkid!)
Anyway, I say this cause I wonder if their was an issue with the dock, or if you just use oddball peripherals.
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 8 months ago:
I don’t know what to tell ya, im sorry your experience is so buggy. My 7 year old child has been able to walk around and it enjoy it like a switch, thats literally all that matters to me. Lots of other people like to complain and it say its not stable at all, and thats just simply not true either.
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 8 months ago:
Thats what I’m saying, a hub and a steam deck act the same as a switch, I don’t understand your point.
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 8 months ago:
Do you know what a hub is? Same exact thing
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 8 months ago:
What? Didn’t realize it was such a draw, but irregardless as I said, you just unplug the screen. Its as easy as that with a hub, just like a switch. I do it daily.
- Comment on Steam Deck game library now 29% larger than that of Nintendo Switch 8 months ago:
Generally speaking you’re either playing docked, or sitting down. Not typically both, but I know what you mean. Even then though, any of the games he plays just automatically readjust the resolution to handheld mode and works just fine. Then when you plug it back in, it knows to stop using the steam as monitor 1 and switches the output to the TV.
Not sure how you’re doing it, but its worked fine for me.
