- Comment on Plex redesigns its app to look more like a streaming service | TechCrunch 2 months ago:
Honestly, I’ve only dabbled in Plex, but Im kinda confused about the hate for this. Isn’t the whole point to be able to more easily browse and use a large media library (esspecially for something like a shared library)? This seems like its useful to that purpose.
- Comment on Windows 11’s new gamepad keyboard lets you type with an Xbox controller 4 months ago:
Yes. Primary, handheld device users and HTPC users, but its always handy for those who play with a controller regularly too.

Does GOG allow it? I expect theres a clause for that in their TOS too.
- Comment on TikTok says it disrupted more than a dozen influence campaigns this year 8 months ago:
I mean, they’re still failing to hide it even in what they did publish. According to the article of like 3000 banned accounts, only like 14 were from China.
I’m more just shocked that they’d even make an announcement for only blocking 15 campaigns. You’d think they’d at least try and inflate the number so it seems like they’re doing something.
- Comment on TikTok says it disrupted more than a dozen influence campaigns this year 8 months ago:
Nah, if they were driven to this by the CCP they would have disrupted more than 13.

Odds are, because its cheaper than a cardboard box.

You’d think they’d be trying to make a good impression for their rollout of games for Netflix.

This is one thing I like about the Lemmy/Reddit format. It (somewhat) helps isolate different communities and esspecially on smaller instances/communities/subreddits making it easier to get to know people, as well as easier to moderate.
- Comment on Are there any notable content creators that focus on content other than niche tech and US political on Mastodon? 1 year ago:
Maybe I’m on the wrong instance or something. I already follow most of those hashtags, but only tend to get like one post a day per hashtag. I also found most of the content was spam and low quality posts, which was part of why I was trying to find people to follow; I was hoping to find sources for more consistently good content.

I’m personally more intro the more popular geeky hobbies, likes video games, Warhammer, History, and building computers, but like I said, I’m open to other quality content as long as it isn’t too niche.

I’ve followed a few, but basically everything I’d be even remotely interested in seem to be near-dead (at least in English).

- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
Not even just that. They approached games that has already promised not to be exclusives, including kickstarter games, that had already been funded with that promise, as well as buying games and removing them from other stores.
If Epic was paying third parties to develop games that would be exclusive to their platform, I wouldn’t like it, but fair enough. Instead, they were paying to have the games removed from better stores so they wouldn’t have to compete. That is an example of anti-competitive practices, not just making a better product and charging more for it.
