- Comment on Steam Controller 2 is apparently a thing and being 'tooled for a mass production' plus a new VR controller 1 week ago:
Then that’s an engineering mistake / wrong fits, instead of an “battery placement” issue
- Comment on When the Steam Deck was still just an idea, Valve says some staff were like, "I just want that for me" and "the point wasn't even to make a product out of it" 5 weeks ago:
The first one didn’t sell that well, so doubt it. Which is a shame, since it’s the best controlled I ever had. If they removed the buttons and put in a joystick (or removed the right Gaben nipple) it would’ve been perfect.
- Comment on A European consumer watchdog wants you to be able to buy exactly as much in-game currency as you need, not fixed chunks 2 months ago:
Ya “don’t like it don’t play it” till every game had premium currency, which is what basically happens right now. Premium currency is a cancer on games and needs to be regulated out of existence. It’s a predatory system to make you think “oh I’m not spending money I’m spending gems!” and leads to addicts losing tens of thousands of dollars. Anyone who defends these systems is either a fanboy or clueless about their impact.
- Comment on A European consumer watchdog wants you to be able to buy exactly as much in-game currency as you need, not fixed chunks 2 months ago:
Kay, first step. Second step, not having to buy any currency.
- Comment on Steam Families has officially launched with a big Steam Client Update 2 months ago:
Well, there are downsides to it as well. They limited the amount of family members to 6 in total. Which if you have 3 brothers, nephews, wife playing is not really enough. Also, the one year removal / delay before joining a different family is bullcrap. Imagine someone breaking up after moving in together and having to wait like 9 months before they can join a different one.
- Comment on New Elite Dangerous spaceship is advertised as a space trucker's dream, but it'll cost ya 3 months ago:
Or just wait till November.
- Comment on No leaving a Steam account in a will after you die according to Valve 6 months ago:
This is a reply by a lowly employee completing a support ticket. Just because the circumstances are different, they won’t do much asking around and treat it the same as someone asking “can I give my account to my brother”.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 has received 100,000 negative reviews since announcing players must link Steam to a PSN account 6 months ago:
There’s no reason, since the game worked fine for so long. They say it’s for security and thst they can’t ban specific people because steam has duplicate nicknames. Which is bullshit, since steam had steamid and other identifiers that let you identify the specific account.
It’s just corporate greed to 1. show shareholders there is a ton of psn accounts and that the console is doing fine 2. Sell that data to someone.
- Comment on Owners Report Valve’s Priciest Steam Deck Model Has A Cracking Problem 7 months ago:
It’s a problem with all plastics. Holes are stress concentrations. With the plastic flowing around it, two plastic “fronts” meet in the middle and need to meld into one piece. That spot is usually around 70 -80% strength in there. Add in the stress riser I mentioned earlier, and cracking happens. Same thing on sharp angles.
- Comment on NYC’s government chatbot is lying about city laws and regulations 8 months ago:
Yeah, until that happens, it is free. And then, prove it happened.
- Comment on NYC’s government chatbot is lying about city laws and regulations 8 months ago:
Cause it doesn’t cost money.
- Comment on US fines man $9.9 million for thousands of disturbing robocalls 8 months ago:
Coulda shoulda. They didn’t. So the next best time is now.
- Comment on Security footage of Boeing repair before door-plug blowout was overwritten 8 months ago:
Not how it works. They are innocent until proven beyond a reasonable doubt, that they are guilty. Not having a recording doesn’t make them guilty. The recording itself though, probably would.
- Comment on Tribes soars out of the grave once again with Tribes 3: Rivals entering early access next week 8 months ago:
It’s dead on arrival. Tiny playerbase (and rifght now free 2 play) and they want ridiculous money after release. Also the early access is supposedly “finished core gameplay”, with them having two modes. No vehicles.
Honestly, mostly a cash grab.
- Comment on Nick Offerman Slams ‘Homophobic Hate’ Against His ‘The Last of Us’ Episode: ‘It’s Not a Gay Story. It’s a Love Story, You A–hole!’ 9 months ago:
By literally the OP above? They were specifically asked how would they clarify and they responded as a “gay love story”.
Buddy, you can be angry about whatever you want, but it is not “irrellevant to the plot” that there is a relationship between two people in the series. It is not irrellevant that it is between two men or two women. They can desribe it any way they want to, and it is not reductive to call it a “gay love story”.
- Comment on Nick Offerman Slams ‘Homophobic Hate’ Against His ‘The Last of Us’ Episode: ‘It’s Not a Gay Story. It’s a Love Story, You A–hole!’ 9 months ago:
It indicates that it is a love story between two black people. You drawing attention to it as if saying “black” is some forbidden, taboo word / description is the problem.
- Comment on Nick Offerman Slams ‘Homophobic Hate’ Against His ‘The Last of Us’ Episode: ‘It’s Not a Gay Story. It’s a Love Story, You A–hole!’ 9 months ago:
Because they were asked to specify what kind of love story it is?
- Comment on Twitch Will Shut Down Its Streaming Platform in South Korea 11 months ago:
Or just remove what’s costing you so much?
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 Has Been Completed by 1.3 Million Players, Shadowheart is Most Popular Love Interest 11 months ago:
Bad rng ruins games. When it’s done correctly, it’s fun. You have to seperate what’s fun from what’s not. It’s fun to hit a 20 and instantly delete something form existence. It is not fun to “do everything right” and still be punished for it.
- Comment on Stardew Valley creator confirms he's made "a ton of progress" on update 1.6 11 months ago:
Indie devs: suddenly I’m a millionaire thanks to this one-hit-wonder game that I spent 6 years making. I think I’ll keep updating it so people keep buying it. AAA companies: We need to pay 400 people over a course of 2 years. 30 million is less than 10% of the budget
- Comment on Star Citizen Just Had its Biggest Crowdfunding Day Ever With $3.5 Million in 24 Hours 1 year ago:
I can’t play Squadron 42 like promised - ergo it wasn’t delivered. Stop being a fanboy when a fact is a fact. It’s an absolute truth, you can’t change it by weasiling around it.
- Comment on Star Citizen Just Had its Biggest Crowdfunding Day Ever With $3.5 Million in 24 Hours 1 year ago:
Pretty sure I said “singleplayer” in response to you saying “they are delivering the product”. Which is false, since I can’t play it.
- Comment on Star Citizen Just Had its Biggest Crowdfunding Day Ever With $3.5 Million in 24 Hours 1 year ago:
Are they delivering the product? I was a kickstarter backer, and still don’t have the singleplayer campaign that was promised. How long ago was that?
- Comment on How did money work on deep space 9? 1 year ago:
They can in TNG at least. There is an episode about people being cryogenically frozen in the past, because of uncurable illnesses. They unfroze them, and one dude ordered alcohol. He even said it was the best glass he has ever had.
- Comment on How did money work on deep space 9? 1 year ago:
Also, you can get groceries and make your own dinner. Why would you ever go to a restaurant?
Going to a bar is most likely about the atmosphere, the people there, just as much as it is about the alcohol
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
No, it doesn’t.
- Comment on First look at the new Tribes game from Prophecy Games 1 year ago:
Because I like games that look good, plain and simple. I’d be playing boomer shooters otherwise
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
Can I create a shitty service that only me and my brother use, and then sue Steam cause they have more players? It’s a dumb lawsuit, plain and simple
- Comment on First look at the new Tribes game from Prophecy Games 1 year ago:
And can you remake all of the assets in 4 months?
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 1 year ago:
The same right as epic games has to prevent a game from going on Steam, or anywhere else, for the first year.
