It’s probably the clay reacting with the aluminium. The older soaps don’t have clay iirc, so they wouldn’t have that issue.

To be fair, they increased also the tub size (from 150 to 200ml) - but they matched the 33% increase in size with a 50% increase in price.
Isn’t it more like a 100% increase? I have some memory of passing less than €30 for a tin a year or so so.

Thanks, I had no idea and this is good to know. I’m lucky then that my Don Josè is still fine. Maybe I should play it safe and switch to bowl lathering it to avoid feeding the reaction with moisture.
The hard soap is actually quite nice, I enjoy the Verbena Toscana one a lot.

I planned my shaves before the Theme Thursday themes for December were posted, so I made up my own. Spiced is my quintessential Santa (“Samichlaus”) scent because it smells just like the little jute sacks filled with mandarins and gingerbread we gift on St Nicholas day.
Very nice early morning shave with (Gingerbread-)Spiced and wonderful hardware.

Very enjoyable Moosday Tuesday SLS with the little green hair shaper. I don’t use shave sticks very often, so there’s still a little bit of novelty in it which I enjoy.

Adventus calendarian and Mob Boss u/Jwoods23 declared today to be Irisch Moos day, but it’s Tabac Tuesday. Luckily, they also suggested how to resolve this merge conflict, and it can be seen looming in the background of my SOTD pic.
My Tabak brush is suddenly shedding much bore bristles than usual. Today it must have lost 100 bristles while typically, it would shed one or two from time to time. Not a good omen for this Zenith knot. I’m hesitating between letting it take its course and immediately replacing it, maybe by a Chisel&Hound badger knot?

The blueberries really came through today in Mindigo. What a nice start into the week. The Inox Dovo punches way above its weight. I’ve heard these are hit and miss, so I might have been lucky there.

I wonder why more modern straight razors aren’t stainless?
I speculate it’s the “tradition” part in “traditional wetshaving” at fault.
