Im obviously misunderstanding what they mean by “note taking” app, right?

Man, this has been the most helpful amd informative internet post I’ve ever made in my entire life, lol. Thank you.

Is this an alternative to Wine?
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 5 days ago:
Ok, thanks for that explanation, that’s all really helpful, and starting to make sense. Im sure I could figure out Wine, or get help from friends, so Bazzite is sounding really good. I am excited to Uncle Phil Windows.

So being not immutable, are there more options for installing typical Windows software, like Photoshop and illustrator? And would you recommend it to someone who’s not tech illiterate, but also not an IT person, as evidenced by my previous question?
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
By Adobe, I mean Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance, etc, which on Windows need to be installed with the Adobe Cloud app. Flathub only seems to have Acrobat.
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
Ah, so Adobe?? Say Adobe and I’m there.
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
Alright, y’all, I really appreciate all the feedback, I believe I understand the gist of most of it. Bazzite is sounding really nice, I just have one big concern: Can I put Adobe on it, so I can dropkick Windows out of my life? I did find this.
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
By support, I meant software installability.
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
Cool, that is very helpful, and yes one main reason for this is I can’t install Adobe, and Blender3D has no GPU rendering support. I have yet to come across the lack of printing, lol.
This and Kubuntu are sounding good, and probably better than Bazzite for everyday and art stuff.
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
Lol, I will choose to trust this reply isn’t an elaborate AI ploy.
- Comment on Desktop Linux distros similar to Steam OS? 6 days ago:
I had seen Bazzite, and yes it does sound exactly like what I asked, but then on their website, every single feature/selling point is about games or performance. I don’t see one word about general usability, or applications, support, or anything, and I’m not sure who builds a PC used solely for gaming.

- Comment on Valve's huge Steam Deck update is now ready for everyone, including rival AMD handhelds 1 month ago:
I would really love it if the new update makes the GPU compatible with Blender for GPU rendering.
- Comment on Happy three years to the Steam Deck - the Linux gaming machine that changed everything 4 months ago:
I use it nearly every day, often for gaming, but it’s also just a great little (tiny) PC. I love the no bullshit OS, and it even runs Blender 3D nicely. It’s a great machine.

Honest question: are things like trees, rocks, logs in a huge world like a modern RPG all placed by hand, or does it use AI to fill it out?

I have one, actually. I literally found it for free on the street, because some idiot was tossing it out 😋

Why would a racing game work differently on Deck vs a PC?

- Comment on [Discussion] SteamOS 3.6 is nearly here, with Valve focusing on bug fixes before release. What are some bugs you've encountered (on either Stable or Beta) that you're hoping to see fixed? 8 months ago:
But I’m talking about using the D-Pad, and it only happens occasionally.
Oh, also, another d-pad bug is with the keyboard, sometimes if I hold down a direction to highlight a key, it will only move one key at a time and won’t scroll over unless I tap a key with my finger, and then it’ll work normally. This one is pretty frequent.

Sometimes when I scroll down with the d-pad it scrolls up instead, until it gets to the top, then scrolls down.
Also, I just today changed my timezone setting, but the clock didn’t update.

My Phillips Fidelio over ears, but the built-in speakers are surprisingly adequate.
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - October 2024 8 months ago:
Well it runs better smooth with Experimental and DX11, and settings are higher now. Pumped.
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - October 2024 8 months ago:
Another thing, did you have a problem with your graphic settings not sticking after loading the game again? I got it to work eventually, but it’s definitely a glitch.

I did set it to Proton experimental from whatever the top option was, after quitting. I shall try again.

I tried starting Control last night. I’ve played it like 4 times on PS5, but it was on sale with Disco Elysium recently. But Direct X 12 seems to be a no-go, and then when I tried 11 it just crashed immediately. But the second I’d get to the mail room it just shits the bed and grinds to like 1.5 fps.

It is. I’ve been away from it for a few years, and these new Geometry Nodes and hair systems are pretty incredible. So long particle system.

Yep it really does
