A big mistake many ppl make is assuming Linux should run on any hardware, unlike all other OSes. You get Win11 compatible PCs, OSX compatible PCs, etc. and somehow that’s normal, but when ppl run the exclusively Windows certified wifi dongle on Linux and it doesn’t work, somehow that’s Linux’ fault. I disagree. One should check if it’s compatible before buying stuff.

If you’re a programmer it is possible. The easiest way would be with a gnome extension IMO. It will still be a lot of work.
- Comment on Is there a way to see user likes and dislikes on lemmy? 1 year ago:
It’s also possible that person was wondering what else you wrote and didn’t downvote the past posts out of spite, but because they actually read them and disagreed or disliked them too 😆
- Comment on Are there universal/standardized watch bands for non-smart digital/analog watches? 1 year ago:
I can recommend “milanese” watch bands. It’s like tiny chain mail and very long lasting.
- Comment on on youtube how do I downvote an ad? or how do i tell youtube that "hey this ad is not something I want to see?" I know ad blockers don't work on youtube anymore but how do I tweek what ads i do see? 1 year ago:
Capitalism is supposed to give consumers choice. It could help if consumers used a greater variety of video sites, eg. Dailymotion or that weird chinese thing BiliBili. If they keep focusing on Youtube, despite all that bullshit, they are basically begging for more bullshit.
- Comment on Why people say good morning (or something like that) on chat after a night? 1 year ago:
A lot of people literally wish you have a good morning. Those are saying this because they like you and hope all is going smooth for you.
- Comment on Is there something that helps digest a cheese pizza? 1 year ago:
Sodium bicarbonate will actually make digestion slower. It neutralizes some of your stomach acids. It is used if you have too much stomach acid (heartburn).
A bit of yoghurt or old real cheese may help, because of their bacteria, but only a bit, because a pizza is often a bit much for one person and maybe that’s part of the problem. So eating more couldmake it worse.
