- Comment on Linus Torvalds reckons AI is ‘90% marketing and 10% reality’ 3 weeks ago:
Honestly, AI is super useful if what you need doesn’t require much creativity. For example, if I want to know how to setup an eDiscovery case in Exchange Online then I can probably trust Copilot to tell me the correct answer.
If I need to write a block of code to check for XSS or CSRF, then no, AI is not going to be trustworthy.
- Comment on PC gaming fan Steven Spielberg says he "can't do controllers," prefers keyboard and mouse 1 month ago:
It depends on the game.
Trying to play a platformer using a keyboard is miserable. On the flip-side, trying to play an RTS with a controller sounds like one of the worst experiences imaginable.
- Comment on CrowdStrike’s faulty update crashed 8.5 million Windows devices, says Microsoft 3 months ago:
No, but HyperV is used extensively in the SMB space.
VMWare is popular for a reason, but its also insanely expensive if you only need an AD server and a file share.
- Comment on CrowdStrike’s faulty update crashed 8.5 million Windows devices, says Microsoft 3 months ago:
If this figure is accurate, the massive impact was likely due to collateral damages. If this took down every server at an enterprise and left most of the workstations online, then that still means that those workstations were basically paperweights.
- Comment on Millions of OnlyFans paywalls make it hard to detect child sex abuse, cops say 4 months ago:
Sounds like things are working like they should.
OF grants full access to a profile and all messages if there is an active investigation. Otherwise, things are kept private.

Not the same thing, but I agree
- Comment on Messaging Service ICQ To Shut Down Next Month After Nearly 30 Years 5 months ago:
Not at all.
It’s been well over 20 years since I’ve heard anyone talk about it, and its probably been 25 since I used it myself.
- Comment on Low-tech tactics still top the IT security risk chart 6 months ago:
I dont see a future where Social engineering is not the most effective type of attack. People have always been the most vulnerable part of any system for the last 12000 years.
- Comment on Square Enix Will 'Aggressively' Pursue Multiplatform Strategy In Company Reboot 6 months ago:
PV gaming is bigger now than it has ever been. The idea of a console exclusive these days just feels like youre leaving a fortune on the table.
This isnt the 90s anymore, people dont really need to compare libraries anymore when choosing a gaming platform(outside of Nintendo, anyway)
- Comment on Rabbit R1 AI box revealed to just be an Android app 6 months ago:
Its especially funny that under the hood its just an android app that can run on most existing smartphones (until they blcok access, anyway)
- Comment on Rabbit R1 AI box revealed to just be an Android app 6 months ago:
Their idea was to replace a smartphone with a device that just connects to an LLM to do all your smartphone stuff via voice control.
If that sounds like a bad idea, congrats. Youre right.
- Comment on Copilot key is based on a button you probably haven’t seen since IBM’s Model M 7 months ago:
Just because F13-F24 isn’t on your keyboard, doesn’t mean those keys don’t exist.
I use F24(bound to a button on my mouse) as my push to talk key.
- Comment on Google is blocking RCS on rooted Android devices 8 months ago:
I ended up installing Magisk, Zygisk, and Play Integrity Fix and can confirm that RCS is working again after it was previously broken on Lineage 21
- Comment on Google is blocking RCS on rooted Android devices 8 months ago:
There are rumors that you can get around this with magisk and the play protect fix.
I’d be curious to know if that has been verified or if it works after you’ve already been blocked
- Comment on Making plans 11 months ago:
Man I wish.
Getting everyone to agree on a date and time for D&D is harder than any encounter you could face in-game
