Hah!

This would be an interesting seed for a horror themed short story.
Somebody finds themself sent to some horrible place when following a computer navigation system and has to survive whatever “horror” scenario and the post script at the end of the story is that the person was sent there because somebody fudged the navigation computer’s map data to cheat at a video game.

Great, the little “poor people get some help to pay for internet” program was canceled this year due to a lack of funding and now here’s an excuse my local ISP gets to have for jacking up my monthly bill.

He expects this technology could, eventually, be connected to AI—exploding only if it registers a nearby tank,
HAHAHA… oh god no. Shit’s been around since the 80’s and nobody wants to use it.
One of Ukraine’s biggest disadvantages, from the start of the war, has been its difficulty in hitting targets inside Russia.
There we go, there’s the terrorism angle i was looking for…

Its not just the cost of the plan, its all the ancillary fees and taxes as well.

Fair… I’m pretty sure I was being needlessly evasive/pedantic.

Not everything in a contract would be allowed to be enforced by law… so no.
Try writing a contract that includes voluntary cannibalism, let it get out to the public, and see if the police just let that slide.

Sure there’s words there but are they actually legally actionable? Like something in an EULA that says, we reserve the right to delete this from your hardware if you don’t sent us a cookie every six months. Its there… but it doesn’t matter.

Abuse maybe, but illegal? No.
Its kinda like sending a “cease and desist” letter with a lawyer’s letterhead (usually an empty threat) but with the automoderation system in place about copyrighted works it winds up being up to the person defending themself from the claim to do the work to prove fair use instead of the person making the claim of infringement.

Bots to post on Twitter to talk to the other bots?

Yeah… and some are flashable and some are not… which is why I was offered my “ponder” as comment.

A chunk of the article makes it sound like, in some cases, it was just a software change that bricked the ink cart.
- Comment on HP wants you to pay up to $36/month to rent a printer that it monitors 9 months ago:
Yeah, but if my printer is pretty much a computer that can have its OS/Applications updated, I’m surprised that hackers haven’t found a way to install software to make a printer be a printer instead of a “live service device”.
- Comment on HP wants you to pay up to $36/month to rent a printer that it monitors 9 months ago:
I wonder, with all the programs that emulate old video game consoles and dead operating systems, are there efforts to make programs that can install directly to the printer hardware to undo this type of stuff?

Why do people care so much about Ghost Busters?
Because some people do. That’s not me being dismissive or snarky, that’s the exact reason. Because some people do.
The hype always seems so forced.
Well, yeah. There’s a marketing campaign that production companies are pushing for to increase the ROI from greenlighting a film that can’t be too original or else its going to be too risky of an investment.

My expectations were really low going in but yeah, its a solid retread of the first movie. The ending had me tearing up a little.
Not excited about another sequel (or reboot or whatever) but honestly curious about it.
