The only way to deal with this is to break the law on mass. If 99% of people break the law, then they can’t enforce that.
- Comment on Cops can force suspect to unlock phone with thumbprint, US court rules 8 months ago:
US court can go fuck a duck cuz I’m putting my phone in lockdown mode and will not be opening it. If the gangsters want the data on the device, they’re going to have to crack it themselves.
- Comment on Why the US government’s overreliance on Microsoft is a big problem 8 months ago:
Is it just me or does the world at least appear to be going more open source? Take a look at social media, for example. We had MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. And now, while those still exist, we also have the choice of Mastodon, Lemmy, Nostr, BlueSky, etc. To the best of my knowledge, all of these are open source. Linux has taken 4% of (an admittedly shrinking) desktop market, Something like 70% of smartphone users are on Android. Which, while definitely not mostly open source, is open source at its very base (AOSP). From what I heard, you can now open ODF files in Microsoft Office, which implies that it is big enough that Microsoft feels they must add it, at least for compatibility.

What’s sad is this guy gets 25 years and Ross got double life without parole for running a website that helped people. Really tells you how fucked up our justice system is. #FreeRoss
