What a shit article “Hey we can do this to single photons and electrons! Whole humans are next!”
No they are not. This articles is just a vehicle to talk about the same-ass philosophical issues that have been talked about for as long as teleportation via technology has been thought about.

- Comment on Baldurs Gate 3 devs tease future non-D&D games, say morale is “super high”: “we're doing our own thing again" 4 months ago:
Good for them. Larian does not need D&D at this point. All the people who liked BG3 aren’t going to shun a new Larian game just because it doesn’t use a D&D setting. Quite the opposite, in fact. Them hyping up their own stuff can only help them keep people interested.
Meanwhile, Wizards can’t generate hype o matter what they do, because they are scared into stasis from the knowledge that they are out of ideas. Heck, a lot of the changes Larian made to the ruleset are things that the people at WotC should have made many years ago. It is very telling that those same people can’t help mentioning the game when they are trying to hype up their new version of 5E. A version that is scared to change anything except tiny details via a focus tested surveys and looks basically identical to the game they delivered ten years ago.

In other news, “Overwatch 2” decides to rebrand as “Overwatch” for increased clarity. They really just released it again to be able to change the monetization.

- Comment on Zombie survival game 7 Days To Die version 1.0 is out now after 11 years in early access 4 months ago:
And yet the netcode still sucks balls, to the point where the game becomes unplayable with 3+ people unless you put the time in to make a dedicated server for it.
There were also some very baffling decisions made for 1.0, like how there is now armor with a skill point chance on level up, apparently. Not sure how that one works in practice, but it doesn’t sound like a well thought-out update.

Yes, let’s run a giant server that wastes energy so people can throw away their trash in the right bin (somehow), only for that trash to then not be recycled properly later regardless. Great business model, guys!

I was playing a lot of Songs of Syx, which I highly recommend if you enjoy very intricate city building and management games.
Since that is more or less done though, I am now getting into Monster Hunter World for the first time.

- Comment on Hasbro exec says Baldur's Gate 3 "proved for us that people really wanted great D&D games," supports Larian's plan to "take the time we need" 8 months ago:
Fuck these people, they did every single thing wrong with their product and the only people who do good things with it are independent content creators. Critical role made D&D the thing to play in the internet age and Larian made a great game with it. Meanwhile D&D under Hasbro has done…what? Fucking nothing is what. They give you shitty books with 95% fluff you don’t need and/or makes no sense, but it has a new subclass for each class in it. Are the classes good? No! No they are not. But while you buy those books anyway please take a look at our 100$ deck of cards that we pretend is gonna make you able to create great adventures on the fly. Nevermind that the whole mechanic of it could fit into a few pages of text as die roll tables.
They can’t even publish all the 50 year anniversary D&D books in their 50th anniversary! They also said those books are a combined 1000 pages as if it’s a value add or impressive, when the current 3 books also have that page count. They basically want you to re-buy your books for 50 bonus pages and the only value add you get will be some fucking focus-tested subclasses. Will they be good? WHO CARES! Even if they are good, the classes will get put on the internet within a day and you don’t need the rest of the books at all!
Don’t buy any D&D products. Don’t give money to these people. Let their company die.
Also, play better games. Fabula Ultima, Lancer, Sentinel Comics TTRPG, there are innumerable games that do any genre you could ever want better then D&D does fantasy.
