Can’t they just do a game give away, like a general one? Im not into NSFW games, but if you make it clear thats what the give away is about it will still get the same message across. We support NSFW games being available (at least I do). I just dont want to play them.
Working retail and food service taught me even if you literally give something away for free, people will still find a reason to complain. “Free hamburgers today” But I don’t like hamburgers. “Today only, get a free 6 months to Spotify if you sign up for something else” But I don’t use Spotify.
Just, okay? Like fine it’s not for you, it doesn’t matter, it’s free.
I think part of this is, if later there are takedowns of these games, many people will experience them being removed from their ownership.
on GoG you could download the installer and install without the need of GoG. No takedown possible, thats the point of GoG.
in most cases delisting would prevent games from being purchased, not from being downloaded if you already have them.
They do general giveaways all the time, this one is specific to a cause and is therefore flavored as such. There’s a discord bot I use to track giveaways from GOG, Epic, and Steam, there is always a giveaway happening at pretty much any given moment from at least one of them. You could look into that or similar if you just want free games.
That completely misses the point of this giveaway. Even ignoring that, these games are being donated by the devs. I'm not sure why a studio not affected by this at all would donate their game fighting this (I know a few might on principal but still)
That’s a good idea. Let’s give obese people sandwiches to raise awareness for starving kids, too.
they’ve given away so many games, where were you
I’m in the same boat as you. Except for house party. I will be playing house party.

Neat, I have no shame in admitting I picked it up, I’ve never played any of these - but if someone tells me I can’t try something (or tries to block access because of prudish reasons) I want to immediately see what the fuss is about.
So, anyone recommend one of these to start with? How would you recommend I try to run these on Linux? (It’s also my first experience with GoG, but seems neat!)

375+ hours played. less than 1% of that time jerking off.

Go with Heroic Games launcher. It works pretty simply without fuss for gog games in my experience.

Thanks!

from what i have seen, many of the games are done in renpy. usually these ship something like run.py - should be easy enough, if you have python installed.

I remember watching a House Party play through with the Game Grumps dudes Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson. They played through until they found themselves in the game. So that may be the only one I actually play. Postal 2 also might be worth playing by the looks of it
