Since the first steam machine in 2008 it’s all I’ve ever wanted…

The pin can be numbers, letters and symbols as well though

What game is that?

I’ve been waiting since the first Steam Machines in 2011 to get steamOs. Best I can do is big picture mode.

I’ve got goofy Intel/NVIDIA switchable graphics in my laptop that make it a pain in the ass to use my VMs and steam. But I wouldn’t trade Mint for windows ever.
- Comment on Microsoft just delayed Recall again 1 month ago:
Hmmm. That’s a shame, I need the functionality of lite gaming. Like some halo 1, RTC, FTL.
I really like their hardware.
- Comment on Microsoft just delayed Recall again 1 month ago:
Yes so same ideals on my end. I want to like OSx but there’s just something…empty about it.

Not sure why I got downvoted for asking a genuine question…
So my latest testing was Catalina. But I didn’t give it an honest go as it was a work laptop for emails.
My last serious romp was 10.6.8, I looved 10.6.8 on the white plastic MacBook I had. I wish I could go back to that form factor.
What is gaming like on mac now adays?
- Comment on Microsoft just delayed Recall again 1 month ago:
I’m asking this genuinely because I want to like apple. What do you do that you can’t on Linux or Windows? I love their hardware, I just don’t see a need for the software. (I want a MacBook air with Linux mint very badly)
- Comment on Can’t upgrade your PC to Windows 11? Buy a new one, is Microsoft’s laughable solution 2 months ago:
Just run windows 3.1 dual booted with Linux mint. Easily the most rational decision.

Oh right. Okay. Not sure why that acronym didn’t cross my mind.

My up votes suggest otherwise.

Lol Im not sure I ever saw those.

Why are half of the comments in this thread talking about how the steamdeck isn’t a computer? What the fuck are you all on about? Do you just need to be contrarian to be different? It’s a fucking full computer, like has all the parts and functions a computer has…
- Comment on The Plucky Squire recently came out, and used the Steam Deck to represent PC 2 months ago:
I wrote a huge argumentative piece to that guy and then snapped out of it and deleted it all. It’s not worth it.

What does your whole compass look like for you? Cause Nintendo needs to be auth-left. And I’m assuming lib left for steam, and Xbox takes lib right.

I’m happy my kids like Halo 1-3 and 1v1 games. But man…fortnite is living in their heads rent free lol

Um…how are you going to get the rare diamond of Jesus to take back to the wizard who will fix your boat with a hole in it to continue on your quest to find who can tell you who killed you brother???
Horizon zero dawns story was good. I’d say armored core 6 isn’t a bad pick up and put down game since missions are kinda short. But mobile games are usually the easiest to access.

Yea, I’m prepared for downvoted but this is why mobile games are so popular. That, a few good sessions of black ops 2/3 zombies. And I’m good. My kids do the fortnite thing.

I’ll take a look. Ive been wanting a steam deck but my vita with remote play and homebrew is fine.

I find myself going back to simpler games that don’t require hundreds of hours of buy in. Im a functioning adult I don’t have time to experience endless collection quests. There needs to be a “dad mode” in games that gets rid of all the fluff.

I’m a systems engineer, I do sometimes forget common knowledge isn’t everyone’s knowledge with IT stuff.
- Comment on Windows is Now Officially Supported on OLED Steam Deck 4 months ago:
Anecdotally: I worked from home today, my primary laptop is Linux mint. Helldivers 2 wouldn’t start, seems an update broke the settings I had. I tried a couple generic fixes through terminal and started getting huffy because everything would be easier if I just used windows. Non of this would be happening if I just took the blue pill…about 30 minutes in I turned off steam sync for saved games and suddenly it all worked again.
Moral of the story: sometimes Linux isn’t this complicated beast, and it’s as simple as something that even windows would have a problem with. It’s only difficult until you figure out the problem. Windows is a necessary evil some of the time but never all of the time.
Just keep swimming. You’ll figure it out. Not trying is being lazy and complacent.

Dude what!? I bought my 212 for like 35 bucks back in 2014. As far as I know my nephew is still rocking that setup every day since 2019. That’s wild they’re selling them for 80ish…smh my head.

A steamdeck, no screen, an evo212 cooler, and possibly just loaded with USB ports. Mmmmmm
