- Comment on Firefox expands fingerprint protections: advancing towards a more private web | The Mozilla Blog 5 days ago:
This is why I haven’t jumped ship despite not being a fan of the AI browser integration. From what I’ve seen Mozilla seems to be the most concerned about preventing fingerprinting, which is the most worrying form of tracking to me. I’m glad to see they’re continuing to try to improve anti-fingerprinting capabilities.

Sounds like a problem that’s going to be after next quarter!
- Comment on Microsoft CEO says the company doesn't have enough electricity to install all the AI GPUs in its inventory - 'you may actually have a bunch of chips sitting in inventory that I can’t plug in' 1 week ago:
No, you don’t understand! If you use our product to ask it about things you don’t know anything about, its answers are indistinguishable (to you) from an expert opinion, even when it’s wrong. This is a pure win for society with no down sides!
- Comment on Manufacturer issues remote kill command to disable smart vacuum after engineer blocks it from collecting data — user revives it with custom hardware and Python scripts to run offline 2 weeks ago:
Having someone use a remote kill command for an item you bought for reasons other than imminent threats to safety ought to be illegal. This shouldn’t be treated differently from a car salesman bricking your windshield after you drive off the lot.
- Comment on U.S. gov't mulls tariffing devices based on the number of chips used and their estimated value — policy would impact nearly every type of electronic device 1 month ago:
This nightmare determination and implementation of tariff policies is why I bought the best phone I could afford last year. This shit is gonna have to last at least 6 years for me.
- Comment on AI crawlers destroying websites in hunger for content 2 months ago:
The result? If you're using a shared server for your website, as many small businesses do, even if your site isn't being shaken down for content, other sites on the same hardware with the same Internet pipe may be getting hit. This means your site's performance drops through the floor even if an AI crawler isn't raiding your website.
Wow, what innovation! Give these companies a trillion dollars!!

- Comment on The AI bubble is so big it's propping up the US economy (for now) 3 months ago:
So where is that happening? Because we’ve already got the B- papers, assuming no sources are checked.
- Comment on Ukraine rescues soldier via drone delivery of complete e-bike 3 months ago:
Seems like a reasonable addition? The average person’s conception of a drone delivering something is probably an Amazon drone or something like it, even if they’ve never seen one. The point being made was that the drones required to deliver an e-bike to an active war zone would be much beefier.
