Ah, forgot about gg.deals, I already had it bookmarked but only for their free games feed. Thanks!
- Comment on SteamDB joins Nexus Mods 1 week ago:
So, I only ever used it for price history of games. Is there a different site that can look that up?
- Comment on Memory Prices Indefinitely High: SK Hynix Says Shortage Continues Through 2030 - PC Perspective 1 week ago:
Honest question, why would the prices at this point ever go down again, even if the AI bubble pops?
Those companies are now used to these profits. For them, profits always have to increase year after year. If there’s no other choice of vendor (and I know this would open an opportunity for a new vendor to come and be cheaper, but if it were that easy with RAM it would have happened already), why would they even care to reduce it again?
- Comment on 8 Year Study Reveals Screen Time Beneficial to Children 2 weeks ago:
Guys, did anyone who commented so far actually read any of the article?
I’ll give you a quote what this is actually saying:
Arguing that all screen time is inherently bad and must be reduced at all costs fails to take into consideration what that screen time actually is.
And a quote from the study they talk about
The researchers’ best guess is that the question “how many hours?” was always the wrong one. What matters is what fills those hours.
A child who spends an evening solving puzzles, building elaborate worlds in a game, editing videos or looking things up is doing something with their attention and memory. A child passively watching an autoplay feed is doing something quite different. The study could not fully separate those uses, but Jalanko’s advice points that way: parents and teachers should steer children toward screen use that involves active thinking, problem-solving, creativity and learning.

I just want couch-coop for this.

I’ll contrast your opinion by saying they look all terrible. I mean the basketball is funny but who wants to see that every day on their computer.
- Comment on Valve says iFixit will keep selling Steam Deck batteries after all. Valve won’t be sunsetting the battery yet. 1 month ago:
Nice! They either heard the feedback or quickly realised themselves how they should do more.

No, not enough
- Comment on "I know how devastating it is, and my heart's with all of you": Doom's John Romero responds to id Software reportedly losing half their team 2 months ago:
The way I see it this is a guy who hasn’t been relevant in ages is still getting his words amplified about a studio that can’t do anything new since 2010 being shut down by a company that owns too much.
Truer words have never been spoken, especially the first part.
- Comment on dBrand Companion Cube cancelled: 2 months ago:
Handling with class? They just tried to get away with something that clearly doesn’t work that way. You don’t make a product based on a known franchise without contacting the franchise owner about it.
- Comment on Steam is ending the physical Steam Gift Cards at retailers! 2 months ago:
You don’t, my wife bought one for me and she does not use Steam. However I don’t think she got a code but instead gave my email address and I got sent the code to use. No idea if there are other options for this though.
- Comment on Mina the Hollower is another absolute gem from Yacht Club Games 3 months ago:
Personally, I think people put far too much thought into earning achievements to the point that they just stop being able to enjoy the experience for what it is - a video game.
I am not an achievement hunter myself but calling out others for liking to collect achievements but not being able to because the game devs somehow don’t deem it hardcore enough, isn’t ok.
- Comment on The Steam Deck OLED's price hikes have killed its status as the best deal in PC games hardware 3 months ago:
I think this is unnecessarily inflammatory focusing on the Steamdeck. Did Valve increase price out of nowhere? I am guessing not. Did they on purpose delay their Steam machine launch date? Again, I guess not.
We all know the elephant in the room for this, which will also cause pretty much all PC hardware prices to go up. By the time that happens the Steam deck will probably be again a good deal, since just everything goes up in price right now.
- Comment on Steam Deck back in stock, with higher pricing 3 months ago:
Daaaaaamn. If I didn’t have one already, I would not consider buying it at that price anymore. And I got the cheaper 512 gb model.

- Comment on Lego 2K Drive is being delisted in a matter of days despite only being a few years old - grab it before it's bricked over 3 months ago:
I’d rather pirate it then. Why is it being shut down? Just to save on operating costs of the servers?
NOTE: All multiplayer servers for LEGO 2K Drive will be shutdown as of 05/31/2027. After that time, all game functions requiring online servers will no longer function.

You’re right, I missed the tilda.
- Comment on If you use Emudeck to play Wii U games, you may have malware 3 months ago:
The following files and directories may be created by the malware:
/tmp/.transformers /usr/bin/pgmonitor.py ~/.local/bin/pgmonitor.py /etc/systemd/system/pgsql-monitor.service ~/.config/systemd/user/pgsql-monitor.service /tmp/kubectl The absence of these files does not prove that you are safe.
Wouldn’t the Steamdecks immutability prevent changes to the filesystem in these folders? After rebooting at least.
