When Sam Altman was removed by the board for being a profit-hungry bastard, a majority of OpenAI’s employees threatened to resign unless he was reinstated. Microsoft was at the ready to welcome Altman and the employees with open arms.

Blaming one specific person is missing the forest for the trees. Capitalism rewards exploitation, giving those that exploit the tools to exploit whoever they wish while the kind are legally hamstrung, violently suppressed, or simply worked around.

Sam Altman could die of a … heart attack tomorrow and they would find someone else to do the dirty work.
