iturnedintoanewt@lemmy.world 1 week agoCareful with some very cheap very powerful GaN chargers. The lowest corner cutting ones have really poor components insulation and can burn easily (or toast your very expensive USB device). I have access to the cheapest ones… And i was very lucky that the laptop didn’t fry. I expend more on reputable brands now.

The situation in Europe and Amazon is at least not as bad as when buying directly from China. I myself invested a bit more for a charger with 2 USB ports and 100W, which cost me around 30€ - still cheaper than the one from Valve (I have one of those too, but that one is currently on 18650 Recharge Duty)
