  I… Haven’t tried pairing a normal mouse and keyboard. Trying to type stuff into the Dolphin address bar is a bit clunky with the controllers. And drag/drop is super sensitive and prone to miss and make a mess. But there’s a desktop mode, and it works. It comes with almost nothing, but you can easily install flatpaks.

  Yup! Although using the Frame’s own CPU to render all this seemed to reduce by quite a large chunk the battery life. Did I read somewhere around 45min for high intensive games at 144Hz? There’s a battery saving 72Hz or so, but that might make you more motion-sick, specially in more active games.

  Careful with some very cheap very powerful GaN chargers. The lowest corner cutting ones have really poor components insulation and can burn easily (or toast your very expensive USB device). I have access to the cheapest ones… And i was very lucky that the laptop didn’t fry. I expend more on reputable brands now.

  No worries, scalpers can still get their way on the Asian region website. There’s no lottery. They released it this morning, and within the hour, all units were sold. I think there was a limit of how many per head you could get, but still, no biggie for scalpers. I managed out of sheer luck to get mine, but definitely a lottery might have been better.

  I mean, I’m talking on my experience on the Steam Deck, but I think it still might apply. Load times are slower in general. I reckon if a game streams assets on the fly heavily (a GTA-like game, a heavy open world game), that might put it to the test. But I haven’t had cases where it just struggles to keep the game flow because of storage streaming speed. It’s just…you feel it installing and handling big file chunks is a slower process in general.

  On a Steam Deck, it is noticeable. They blamed the SD reader itself, which might not give the best speeds, but there’s a noticeable difference between a very expensive very fast SD, and the still faster internal storage. Load times on heavy games groom the SD can be… Long.

  I’d say not to look away from the K580 either. It can only switch between 2 devices vs 3 on the K780, but it’s also a bit lighter and smaller without that massive tray for devices (it still has one, a bit smaller). Which, for lap use as in my case, is more convenient.

  Half Life Alyx is considered by many THE VR experience to be had, if you want to try what’s this all about. I’ve seen it phrased this way a few times.
