bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 2 months agoGuess you didn’t see the news. The lawsuit is over. Nintendo won. They settled for a payment of 2.5 or so million dollars and have to delete Yuzu and its source code.

Damn I hadn’t. That’s such bs. I don’t blame Yuzu team for avoiding the heat, but still a shame that it came to that.

The good news with this settlement is that we’ve avoided an actual legal ruling against emulation. There was a real chance of Nintendo winning in court (largely because Yuzu devs were making money), and a legal precedent against emulators could have wiped out a lot of other emulators as well.
