- Comment on Steam games will now need to fully disclose kernel-level anti-cheat on store pages 3 weeks ago:
At the very least a choice. Keep using it as is or get updates related to the new agreement.
- Comment on The trick to Dragon Age's lore is that the lore is lying, says original "uber-plot" writer David Gaider 3 weeks ago:
I honestly do love the aspect of it.
- Comment on Valve bans Razer and Wooting’s new keyboard features in Counter-Strike 2 2 months ago:
Games are defined by the limitation imposed by them.
You might arguably do all that if you are competing at extremely high skill levels tbh.
- Comment on Nexus mods want feedback from Linux / Steam Deck users on their new cross-platform app 4 months ago:
UX is pretty painful. I’m never sure if its bugging or if I’m doing it wrong or working and now needs me to do some other step.
I’ve modded to hell and back with Minecraft, Skyrim, and every Paradox game. So it was kind of shocking just how hard modding in Linux was with Vortex.
- Comment on SteamOS 3.6: How the Steam Deck atomic updates are improving 6 months ago:
Yeah collabera have been doing tons of awesone stuff in Linux graphics world for a while!
- Comment on Steam Deck vs that Asus thingy 7 months ago:
Yeah its an open source project with the configs based on the game not steam it’s self. Steam just supports its in their launcher.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
Are pro both? Like do you think its good that most phones make money selling surveillance and Epic doing the same to give it competitive advantage over those that don’t?
I’m against both personally, both are bad. I support GOG and l8bre games, I bought a librem 5, I support Tor, etc etc
Because I try to act on my values. All that said, what I replied to was trying whataboutism Lemmy in this discussion but they represent a another fucking way besides being fucking carion for companies like Epic, Google, and Apple to fucking be torn apart and devoured for.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
Dude what’s your point?
Like I normally love going down the Libre rabbit hole, I love learning about Libre boots, firmware, ISAs, Hardware, p2p user own and operated networks, etc but what does that have to with the idea that Lemmy isn’t a for profit entity incentived to collect and sell user data?
Where are trying to go with this?
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
I mean some of the fediverse devs work at Meta so surely right?
These aren’t totally cut and dry because of the open nature of the software and network.
You can have Marxist Leninist build an app with support for donations and have someone turn around and interoperate with Meta using the protocol whos standard is hosted by a industry non profit.
Life’s weird living in the free world shrug
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
I use a FOSS app and the website from a Linux desktop. What I am saying is the incentives for the Lemmy devs to work on Lemmy are ideological and funded by donations. The fact that companies can extend it isn’t relevant to the intention of design of Lemmy.

Lemmy’s not a company shrug
- Comment on Hasbro exec says Baldur's Gate 3 "proved for us that people really wanted great D&D games," supports Larian's plan to "take the time we need" 8 months ago:
I hope laurin switches to Pazio material or some other lore source tbh. I mean they (hazboro) fired all of they’re working partners from their side and are clearly bad fucking stewards of the IP.
- Comment on Hasbro exec says Baldur's Gate 3 "proved for us that people really wanted great D&D games," supports Larian's plan to "take the time we need" 8 months ago:
Lmao I honestly so hard at this, but honestly they were probably thinking “what’s the lowest fucking bar we have here?” And instead this success told them that a little more investment might actually have better returns
- Comment on Nearly 30 Percent Of The Top 100 Steam Deck Games Aren’t Verified 8 months ago:
I play all of these with no issue now (bg3 had issues in launch) all on the SD but I have a dock to my keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
- Comment on RetroDECK - Yuzu Removal from 0.8.0b 8 months ago:
Damn I hadn’t. That’s such bs. I don’t blame Yuzu team for avoiding the heat, but still a shame that it came to that.
