Rogue Trader is near the top of my backlog. Has anyone here played it? How is it?
Making Baldur’s Gate 4 would be "a great challenge" for Rogue Trader devs Owlcat, co-founder says, as the studio reiterate their commitment to CRPGs

I’m only in act 2. So far it’s been pretty good. It does a pretty good job of getting the 40k feel while also being approachable if you don’t really know much about it. It feels like there is some replay value for different play styles and team compositions.
It’s not really a negative, but because it’s 40k the alignment system is a bit weird. It’s imperium good (evil), chaos (extra evil), and iconoclast (less indiscriminate killing).

Don’t recommend for multiplayer. We were looking at it post BG3, but unless they’ve totally revamped it, two players are basically “sidekicks” and have very little ability to do things outside combat. We also had graphics performance issues, but that was a year+ ago and could have been related to co-op.

I’d say it’s a masterpiece. It really, really helped me to experience and truly understand more of the warhammer universe. Like the cherry on top of a cake.
The story, companions and overall atmosphere are a perfect slice of a warhammer world (worlds…) combat is good flexibility in builds lots of grim dark humor in dialogues role-playing: _oh, you wanna be the goody two shoes guy? Cute … Wouldn’t it be a shame if, occasionally, the game would teach you some lessons! _
Mildly important: I wouldn’t recommend this game to someone whom has not played and enjoys the CRPG genre, or turn based combat or knows nothing of the warhammer universe. Nope, this game is not for thee.

Do we really need more Baldur’s Gates? The story was finished in Throne of Bhaal, then Larian dug the corpse up and put a mindflayer brainworm in it, and now it’s finished again. Just tap into the oodles of other Dungeons and Dragons settings for the next game. Why not adapt the Dragonlance novels into games? Or call it something else if you stay in Forgotten Realms, let this franchise rest.
Ah, I’m sorry I’m just shouting at clouds. Who wants a new IP when you can cash in on a successful established brand and squeeze some wallets until they bleed. That’s my bad, I forgot myself and the current state of things for a second. And I mean, it already worked for BG3 so fuck it, run it back I guess.
