- Comment on "Make the past less permanent": Tattoo Removal Simulator is a surprisingly poignant take on the PowerWash clean-up genre 1 day ago:
I love this idea. Powerwash Simulator-like is maybe not my genre of choice, but this seems like such a great vehicle for environmental storytelling. It’s actually a genius idea, and I feel like there is a lot that you could do with return customers and ongoing updates in their life stories. In a way, it would be even better if you were both removing and adding new tattoos, depending on what is happening in the lives of your customers.
- Comment on Moonsigil Atlas is a genuine delight that makes you rethink deckbuilders 1 day ago:
A roguelike entirely based on rotating shapes? Northernlion might actually get an aneurysm.
- Comment on 2D Platformer "Mina the Hollower" Early Reviews Top 2026 Review Ratings 5 days ago:
Indie game with unbelievably good reviews launching at just €20? This has been a kryptonite for me before. I need to be strong, my backlog is calling.
- Comment on Remedy's new CEO doesn't want to "change the DNA" of the Control studio, but he does still think their games "could give a lot more" 6 days ago:
I think the only weapon I didn’t use a lot was the Shatter, the shotgun one. Grip, Pierce and Spin I was all using a lot. And both grenade launchers were fun, I prefer the one from the AWE DLC though.
As far as powers go I probably used the shield the most, even though I also did use telekinesis a lot, not the least to heal. I also liked the slam dash.
- Comment on Remedy's new CEO doesn't want to "change the DNA" of the Control studio, but he does still think their games "could give a lot more" 6 days ago:
Max Payne does still hold up. I disagree on gameplay in Control though, I thought there was plenty of action and the action was good. I do agree though that Jesse was a fairly weak protagonist. The focus is clearly on the Oldest House, and they wanted a straight man lead to contrast with the weirdness, but to me it didn’t quite work as they ended up with a protagonist that wasn’t all that compelling. I still loved the world building.
Also, Alan Wake 2 is a very competent survival horror mechanically. Remedy can do really good gameplay. Hell, even Quantum Break was alright gameplay wise, despite mostly being a dress rehearsal for Control.
- Comment on Squabble over Disco Elysium's legacy continues as Hopetown studio recruit another ex-ZA/UM dev while dropping a new trailer on Zero Parades' release day 1 week ago:
I was kind of shocked and saddened that Martin Luiga joined Longdue after all of Longdue’s hostile behaviour towards Argo Tuulik. I think the thing that makes me the most depressed about the whole post-Disco implosion is that the friend group of Robert Kurvitz, Martin Luiga and Argo Tuulik seems to have fallen apart. It was their TTRPG sessions that created the world of Elysium and it’s such a shame we’ll most likely never see them collaborate on anything again.
- Comment on Valve make adjustments to Steam tags, and they settled the Vampire Survivor-like argument with Bullet Heaven 2 weeks ago:
Bullet Hell is a thing already, Bullet Heaven is the new genre pioneered by Vampire Survivors. It replaces "Vampire Survivors-like’.
- Comment on Valve make adjustments to Steam tags, and they settled the Vampire Survivor-like argument with Bullet Heaven 2 weeks ago:
Some of the removals are great (you shouldn’t be able to tag your game “Well-Written” or “Masterpiece”) but some I don’t understand. But I can’t say I have encyclopedic knowledge of all the tags that exist so maybe most of the removed ones are already covered elsewhere.
Also yes, Bullet Heaven is a great genre name.
- Comment on [Eurogamer] Mixtape review 2 weeks ago:
A good write-up, I suppose, but I think maybe I just don’t agree with all of it. But I’ve said before, I think this game just isn’t for me. At several points in the review something is pointed out in the manner of “this thing sounds bad, but it’s actually good” whereas I react more like “no, that still sounds bad to me”. Like this:
One of Mixtape’s few flaws is that it can occasionally slip into plainly stating its themes out loud, its teen protagonists coming out with sudden profundities well beyond their years. But this is also, like a lot of Mixtape’s excesses, part of its charm.
I’ve seen some footage of it (though admittedly not all of the game), and this was irking me a lot. But maybe I’m just wrong here? Maybe a game about teenagers where the teenagers don’t speak like teenagers is actually better?
I don’t know, there is something off about the whole thing. The article even hints about it: it’s millennial nostalgia bait for a time millennials have no memories of being a teenager in. It doesn’t seem to explore the realities of being a teenager as much as indulge in the imagined ideal of being a teenager in a 90s Americana movie. But I don’t know, maybe my teenage years just overly sucked and that’s why I can’t relate.
Maybe I need to play it to get it.
- Comment on Civilization VII Update Will Finally Let Players Stay as One Civ Through All Ages, as Take-Two Boss Admits: 'We Got It Wrong' 2 weeks ago:
I agree. Simplified enough without losing track of what it should be, still the best visual style, no more death stacks…
- Comment on "It's expensive and it doesn't age": Why Ken Levine didn't aim for realistic graphics in BioShock, and won't for Judas either 3 weeks ago:
(…) BioShock still looks good because it wasn’t trying to get every nut and bolt super realistically rendered. It was a style."
Totally agreed, and the same goes for almost every other game with stylized graphics too (well, the good ones). Art direction trumps graphical fidelity every time, and stylized graphics don’t run into the uncanny valley problem of attempted (but not quite successful) photorealistic graphics.
- Comment on PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 devs battling "AI slop code pull requests" 3 weeks ago:
Isn’t this the case for most open source projects with open PRs these days? I’m not a dev but that’s what I’ve heard from those who are.
- Comment on Humble Choice for May 2026 has Diablo IV, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and more 3 weeks ago:
In Stars And Time for sale also. Been looking at that one for a bit.
- Comment on [Eurogamer] Titanium Court review 3 weeks ago:
You should not read any reviews about Titanium Court. You should use this as a perfect chance to take advantage of the 2-hour refund window of Steam. I’m not saying the entirety of the game is contained within the first 2 hours - far from it, actually - but you have a very, very good chance of knowing whether you vibe with the game or not within that refund window.
And if you do enjoy this game, you will want to go in as blind as possible. There is a reason AP Thompson’s trailers for the game are just nonsensical (though great) musical numbers, not actually revealing anything about the game. I suggest you play it, it’s a real trip in the best way.
- Comment on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 takes Best Game award at 2026 BAFTA Games Awards but shares spotlight with Dispatch with 3 wins each 1 month ago:
Glad Blue Prince got an award at least. Crazy is wasn’t nominated for music though, I thought its OST was absolutely banging. I mean just listen to this extended version of History Suspended they just dropped.
- Comment on [Eurogamer] Mouse: P.I. for Hire review 1 month ago:
I really hope this doesn’t fall under the radar because of Pragmata. Looks like a blast. I’m tempted to day one it but I have enough on my plate recently, and I foolishly bought Death Howl recently so I should think twice about spending on a new game probably.
- Comment on Disney yank a bunch of games from Steam, including bonafide classics Star Wars: Dark Forces, Outlaws and High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance 1 month ago:
I really wish we got some Kyle Katarn movies instead of the Disney sequel saga…
- Comment on "This is the most reasonable and wise thing to do": survival shooter Road to Vostok's dev plans to recharge a bit before tackling fixes and larger updates 1 month ago:
What they really need is more developers, it sounds like. I’m really happy about the success but to me it sounds like the game is still too close for comfort to solo dev territory considering the scope and ambition. With all the early access success they can surely scale up to a small team now?
- Comment on Just played AC Odyssey ...Currently playing Origins. Is there any games out there like the AC stuff. Also like finding new stuff and location. 1 month ago:
Ghost of Tsushima is basically just honorary Assassin’s Creed, so you could play that.
Rise of the Ronin is also underrated, it’s basically a Ghost of Tsushima with better combat but worse everything else. But still has you covered on the open world slop front.
Both these games have tons of checklist stuff on the map to do and camps to clear and so on.
- Comment on Just played AC Odyssey ...Currently playing Origins. Is there any games out there like the AC stuff. Also like finding new stuff and location. 1 month ago:
It sounds like OP isn’t after stealth action so much as open world slop. I don’t really think there is a huge overlap between AC and Deus Ex or Dishonored for example.
- Comment on Early Access Launch | Road to Vostok - YouTube [22:38] 1 month ago:
What’s the AI like? The last playtest I played they were so braindead basic it wasn’t a whole lot of fun to actually play.
- Comment on Tlatoani: Aztec Cities has fully released! 1 month ago:
Cool! I’m not in the market for a city builder at the moment, but I have always felt like mesoamerican themes are sorely underutilized in gaming.
- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1 2 years ago:
When was the last major Rockstar release that came out simultaneously on consoles and PC? Max Payne 3 maybe? I assume it will be console exclusive and then PC a year later.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Patch Notes 2 years ago:
I don’t know, I think it’s more down to personal preference than that. I get that competitive FPS players want to push frame rates as high as possible, but for me personally I have the exact opposite opinion as you. I have no real need to chase hundreds of FPS, at a stable 60 games feel smooth enough (maybe my eyes are bad). On the other hand, several games have a dramatic improvement in presentation with Ray Tracing on, in my opinion, which I value a lot. Both Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2 for example look notably better with RT on.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Announced for Next Week 2 years ago:
I forgot, you also probably want to get a modded timescale. I made my own custom one, but if you use vanilla you risk getting on the train at midnight and coming back home at sunrise. Here are some to choose from if you don’t want to set up your own.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Announced for Next Week 2 years ago:
I believe i was using this one.
I also recommended basically all of deceptious’ mods if you’re after immersion, he does some of the best work on the Nexus in that department.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Announced for Next Week 2 years ago:
I used the modded Metro System for my playthrough along with a mod that adds basic primary needs (hunger/thirst/sleep). Many of my favourite moments were realising it was late after doing a gig, hopping on the metro and watching the city as I rode back to the apartment for a night’s sleep.
Small things like that really help me with immersion, so I’m really happy they added this officially.

I always loved the Legally Distinct Massive Attack - Angel from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Rik Schaffer was on fire for that whole soundtrack.

- Comment on Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Has Entered the Final Phase of Development and Reveals New Trailer 2 years ago:
I’m not convinced by what I’ve seen just yet, but I’m happy we’re getting a game at all and I’m trying to be hopeful. Every fiber in my being is wishing for this to end up a GotY slamdunk after all the developers have been through.
I loved Shadow of Chernobyl and I probably have a couple hundred hours in Anomaly so I will but it regardless, not least to show my support.
- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 Adds New Playable Epilogue With 3,589 Lines of Extra Dialogue, Much More 2 years ago:
There are so many other games to play that I’m still probably on the plan to postpone my second playthrough until the Definitive Edition comes out (probably next summer), but this is a much needed patch.
The way Larian describes the new epilogue, I’m thinking this is them re-adding some of the “17 000 endings” they were talking about pre launch. In any case, more and better epilogues were sorely needed so this is great.
Hopefully they can keep salvaging cut content and polish up Act 3 until it reaches the same quality of the other two.
