I know people are pretty dismissive of roblox (myself included), but it’s hugely popular and it’s always good to have the option.

Yeah I mean, to be honest I scrolled past this post/headline and was like “meh, I’d rather just play Wobbly Life”…

…but then I saw this post again and thought… damn actually this is a pretty huge win for the Steam Deck.

Even if the person buying the Steam Deck doesn’t give a shit about being able to play Roblox… if they have a kid who likes to play video games… then there is actually a really high chance this adds a huge amount of value to the Steam Deck, and for a non-zero amount of kids playing Roblox on their parent’s Steam Deck might be their first introduction to Linux… which is exactly the kind of longterm community building linux gaming needs if we ever hope to make linux gaming a mainstream thing.
