such a bad ideas. Though I realize now I WOULD pay to see Richard Simmons as Pauly Shore.

I'm just glad they're both still alive.

I’m a bit more hopeful after reading the article. If it’s good film done in a positive, respectful way, I’m not opposed. However, this is Hollywood, and they’re better at BS than politicians. We’ll see.

This is the best summary I could come up with:
Shore has already shot the short film “Court Jester,” which will debut in Park City, Utah, during Sundance, though it is not a part of the fest.
“While we would love to have him involved, we respect his desire to privacy and plan to produce a movie that honors him, celebrates him and tells a dramatic story,” said The Wolper Organization in a statement.
“We know he is deeply private and we would never want to invade that, how ever he is an amazing person, that changed millions of peoples lives and the effect he has had on the world needs to be recognized.”
“I’ve noticed all the reactions to me playing Richard Simmons in a new biopic,” Shore wrote on Facebook in September.
Earlier on Wednesday, Shore said in a statement announcing the project: “Simmons represented mental health, getting people in shape and being his authentic silly self!
He was once a fixture on talk shows and at his Beverly Hills workout studio Slimmons, but exited public life in 2014.
The original article contains 417 words, the summary contains 169 words. Saved 59%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Can we all just agree as a society to leave Richard Simmons alone? He has expressed numerous times that it’s all he wants.

I agree, this “movie” is only news because he spoke out on his own behalf which he rarely does.
I get the stunt casting. Pauly Shore would be pretty fitting. But just because there’s an uncanny resemblance doesn’t mean you should built a movie around it. Especially when the subject is very much alive and doesn’t seem particularly interested in the idea.
Beyond Richard Simmons, I don’t think bio-pics should be made about living subjects without their explicit consent at all. It’s ghoulish.

But what about the money?
