I’ll probably still be using my Steam Deck in 2035 lol. It’s just so perfect for the types of games I play - mostly older stuff and modern pixel art / 2D games. I just beat Spiritfarer on it after beating Graveyard Keeper, and I’m nearly to the “end” of Stardew. I’ve played through FFVIII, FFIX, and FFX on it. My gaming time has quadrupled now that I can play all my games in bed or on the toilet or at the park. Just an amazing little machine.
- Comment on [Discussion] What's something that has improved your Deck experience? 2 weeks ago:
This is peak laziness, but I installed a tablet mount on my bed’s headboard so when I lay down I can just have the deck screen in front of my face. I use an 8bitdo controller so I don’t have to hold my hands in the air.
I was originally going to get one of those gaming glasses that are advertised for the deck, but this accomplishes the same goal of comfortably gaming while laying down.

It doesn’t make sense that 1080p looks horrible at such a large size when I’m used to 4k?
- Comment on What is your favorite Steam deck Bluetooth keyboard? 1 month ago:
For portable use I love this keyboard: a.co/d/a1s6Slt
It’s not the best option if you’re just using it at home, though.

1080p looks abysmal on my 65" though. Is there any solution?
- Comment on 8BitDo announces it's controllers now have Steam/SteamOS compatibility 1 month ago:
Interesting, I’ll have to play around with it. I’ve been docking it to my 4k TV so maybe I need to force a lower res.

Nice, thanks. How has your docked experience been? I’ve only been able to get it working well with low-power games like Monster Train. Any 3d game seems to run horribly, even older titles.

Do y’all use a controller in heldheld mode or only docked? I’m curious what the use case is here.
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your Deck? - July 2025 1 month ago:
I went into it totally blind and really fell in love. I definitely recommend trying it out when you want to feel some feels.

Spiritfarer. Got it on sale for $5 a while ago and it’s surprisingly touching and addictive. I even cried at one point.
- Comment on Fastest Handheld Display? - Switch 2 vs Steam Deck vs ROG Ally X and More 2 months ago:
Very informative. I wonder why Nintendo went with such a poor-performing display. Maybe to get users onboard with the inevitable refresh model?
- Comment on [Discussion] Steam Summer Sale has started, what are you buying to play on your Deck? 2 months ago:
I snagged Steins;Gate for $3. I’ve never played a visual novel before and I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but I’ll give it a shot.

Seems like things are functional now. I imagine the servers got hit hard during the start of the sale.

7" non-OLED screen is a hard no from me, regardless of everything else.
- Comment on What games did you get down with over the holiday weekend? 2 months ago:
I played Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine for the first time in over 20 years. I never managed to beat it when I was younger but I blew right through it in an hour this time around, even with arthritic hands. Feels good.
- Comment on Steam Deck sales still going strong over three years later 3 months ago:
Agreed, the ease of repairs and ability to upgrade the SSD were a huge selling point for me.

This is why I always buy electronics on my Amex card. They add an additional year of warranty past the manufacturer’s expiration.
- Comment on Name your most played and most surpring game you played on Steam Deck 2024 7 months ago:
Inscryption. I love card battlers and bought it just for that. I didn’t expect my mind to be blown at every twist! Easily one of my Top 5 games of all time. Controls were a bit wonky on deck but I got used to it after a few hours.

I’d even settle for a Lenovo-style nipple for mouse control.
- Comment on [Discussion] Do you use any headphones with your Steam Deck? 8 months ago:
Agreed! I use them all day when I go into the office, and the battery life, noise cancelation, and sound quality have been perfect.
- Comment on [Discussion] Do you use any headphones with your Steam Deck? 8 months ago:
They’re really only necessary if your headphones are hard to drive afaik

I’m a basic bitch and use my Galaxy buds. They work well enough. When docked, I have it connected to my DACAmp and blue snowball for a great audio experience.

Other than Copilot, what does Windows 11 do worse than 10? I havent tried it yet.
