You forgot to add something to the cart and then remove it a few days later.
cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 days ago
i would never do that looks at the five things i already have in my cart
jonathan@lemmy.zip 5 days ago
Psychonauts 2 is 90% off. Though it’s not Steamdeck verified it’s Linux native and should run pretty well.
xavier666@lemm.ee 4 days ago
Nowadays, I don’t even check if it’s SD compatible. I just check if it’s controller-friendly.
prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 days ago
Protondb is the place to check.
domi@lemmy.secnd.me 5 days ago
Played through it on my Linux PC, worked flawlessly. Fantastic game!
Elextra@literature.cafe 5 days ago
I picked up this and Slime Rancher so far!!
LMagicalus@discuss.tchncs.de 5 days ago
Just one game, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Tovervlag@feddit.nl 4 days ago
Running that on PC and I recommend waiting until a few patches have been. Later in the game you run into game breaking issues.
LMagicalus@discuss.tchncs.de 4 days ago
I highly doubt this ancient game is getting any patches.
derpgon@programming.dev 4 days ago
He is talking about Stalker 1, you are talking about Stalker 2.
Father_Redbeard@lemmy.ml 5 days ago
Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Hopefully plays decently on the deck.
Junkernaught@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 days ago
I finished it on the Deck, it was basically perfect aside from achievements not triggering in the second and third games iirc. Modding it was a pain in the hole, had to essentially install the game on a windows machine, mod it and then transfer all of the files over. Not sure if anything has changed in the last year.
jherazob@beehaw.org 4 days ago
Doesn’t that require an external account and running the fucking Origin client on device? I’ve seen that go to ludicrous levels of discounts (currently at freaking 92% discount) but FUCK THAT!
gothic_lemons@lemmy.world 4 days ago
Grotto is $1.29!

Picked up Balatro and Dave the Diver.
Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 days ago
If you enjoy Balatro, try Inscryption next. Don’t read anything about it, just hop in blind
Tovervlag@feddit.nl 4 days ago
love inscryption! It’s really unique and a lot of fun.

Well, I was hoping to buy a Deck to begin with, but doesn’t look like the OLED models are on sale.
For now, i’ve grabbed the STALKER trilogy, and am thinking about picking up Guildwars 1
morgan_423@lemmy.world 6 days ago
The 512 LCD Deck is a stupidly good deal at 25% off… $330 USD is crazy cheap for a new Deck, and that’s a solid amount of starting storage space before you even move to grab an SD card.
I own both in the household, and while I do enjoy some of the OLED Deck’s improved features, the original is NOT a slouch… I wouldn’t sleep on it! The display is MUCH better than it was at launch thanks to software fixes, and the screen can safely be overclocked from the base 60 Hz up to to 70 Hz with minimal effort, further reducing the gap between the models (OLED is 90 Hz).
Since I own both, I can tell you what you’d mainly be missing taking the LCD: basically you’d giving up battery length (OLED is about 25% better on battery life… but the whole issue is mute if you primarily play older games, or mostly play while plugged in), about a half inch of diagonal screen real estate, a somewhat less precise touch screen, and taking a slightly older Bluetooth adapter in the unit. In exchange for this, you get a new Deck for more than $200 less than the base OLED will cost.
Otherwise, these two are very similar, so it’s a very good time to get a Deck.

Ohh I’ve been waiting for an updated overclock since SteamOS 3.6 broke the old one, thanks for making me aware. One of my favorite mods.
NanoooK@sh.itjust.works 5 days ago
It’s already sold out… too bad because you convinced me to get the LCD version.
semperverus@lemmy.world 6 days ago
Gnorp is a ton of fun. Ive been playing through guild wars to try to get gwamm but man is it a chore. Never did get through stalker, got walled in the section after the first loading screen with that area with the trucks and all the dudes with shotguns coming at you, but this was like over a decade ago that I tried. I mostly remember the flappy gums of one of the guys at the beginning saying "frau geobrau, pipe down m’yan, let me feel uou een!’
ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 5 days ago
I liked my lcd one, but the oled is nicer by a bit (i upgraded right away :-/ ). I’m guessing summer 2026 will be the next deck.
dinckelman@lemmy.world 5 days ago
As much as i think the LCD one is insane value, especially the cheapest one, i know i’ll be keeping it for a long time, so i just want the better model. The display improvements are hard to ignore, plus you get a battery life boost too, and that on its own is the selling point for me

Animal Well is one of the best games of the year. So good.
The less you know about anything going into it, the better.
secret300@lemmy.sdf.org 5 days ago
I bought Skyrim, again… The special edition. And I got Tanuki Sunset which I didn’t know had a full release all the way back in 2020. I played the fuck outta it in highschool on the web. Really fun game I recommend checking it out, you can play the classic version for free on itch
crmsnbleyd@sopuli.xyz 5 days ago
How many skyrims do you have by now?
secret300@lemmy.sdf.org 5 days ago
- PS3, original Skyrim on PC, now special edition
tiberius@lemmy.ca 5 days ago
If I can walk away with only 1 or 2 games by the time the winter sale ends, my backlog will thank me.
domi@lemmy.secnd.me 5 days ago
I finally bought Nine Sols.
Water_Melon_boy@lemmy.zip 4 days ago
You’re in for a treat! They just released boss rush too!
Dutczar@sopuli.xyz 5 days ago
This sale, only Sonic X Shadow Generations. I have a big payday in December though and will be buying a lot for Christmas.
Maybe Sonic is good again. I’d hope. I’ll buy Frontiers since I’ve tried to avoid spoilers for too long.
pathief@lemmy.world 5 days ago
SpiritFarer is an amazing deal if you haven’t played it yet. Super recommend it.
I finally bought Kingdom Hearts. The price is steep, let’s see if it pays off.
secret300@lemmy.sdf.org 5 days ago
I just bought an og PS3, the one compatible with PS2 games. I’m gonna buy the Kingdom hearts games for PS2 I’m excited
AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 5 days ago
Gonna keep an eye on this post for recs. Does anybody know if there’s a working RemindMe bot yet?
Lemmchen@feddit.org 5 days ago
Out of stock in Germany.
Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz 4 days ago
I bought up Psychonauts 2 and Jedi Fallen Order for myself. A friend gifted me Astlibra (which I’m really excited about), and Brok the Investiagator.
I also gifted a copy of Shadows of Doubt and F.E.A.R. Hadn’t realized until after my friend tried it, but turns out F.E.A.R. is one of those games that runs perfectly on linux, but doesn’t run well on Windows anymore. Requires multiple patches to remove memory caps for windows, and even then it still has fps dips for some reason. Meanwhile linux/steam deck runs it perfectly.

www.humblebundle.com/games/rawcember-to-remember
There’s a nice bundle of Deck verified indie games in humble bundle
ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 5 days ago
Fyi: hunter call of the wild does run well on the deck. It’s quasi realistic and quite peaceful hunting game that very gradually unlocks less realistic stuff to make hunting and tracking easier.
mjhelto@lemm.ee 5 days ago
Picked up Crime Scene Cleanup yesterday and I’m enjoying it, so far.
Regrettable_incident@lemmy.world 5 days ago
Alien isolation Uncharted legacy of thieves Resident evil Bioshock infinite.
I’m just getting back into gaming after a twenty year gap so I’ve got loads to catch up on. I’ve been enjoying FPS stuff, but I’m frustratingly bad, even on easy mode. Need more time for practise but work long hours, ho hum. Hopefully I’ll find time to try all of the above. Recently finished bioshock original and loved it.
saxocat@possumpat.io 5 days ago
Nothing, still haven’t finished my last game and have another one ready on the pile. Not giving in to the FOMO this time.
smeg@feddit.uk 5 days ago
A healthy attitude to take. Having a Deck is finally letting me get through the backlog, I’m not going to start adding to it again!
jherazob@beehaw.org 4 days ago
Same, been going through my backlog and only rarely adding to it, although the Humble Choice subscription which i still can make myself leave keeps growing it slowly 😅
