Holocure would be my recommendation for the free tier of the Survivor genre.

Palworld is addicting. I tried Pokemon, Monster Sanctuary, Coromon, Cassette Beasts, and Nexomon. Bounced off all of them. Who knew that adding base building, shifting to a 3rd person view, and adding a million things to do would make it stick with me.

Jigsaw Puzzle Dreams - F2P jigsaw puzzle game that supports multiplayer. You can use custom images after a DLC purchase but the base game has a good sample of puzzles. My first 500 piece puzzle took 10 hours to do. It tickles my nonogram crave as I hit a skill wall in Voxelgram. I would recommend.
Ara Fell - 2D RPG. Simple combat. Story is cheesy but I needed more calcium in my gaming diet. I would also recommend.

I feel your pain with the lock system in Sea of Stars. Sometimes you can only get it 80% power and just take the damage. There was a point early in the game where I was low on items and HP. I knew I would die in the next regular fight. I died and backtracked to craft more healing items from fish to get me over the hump.

Yes, Parking Garage Rally Circuit was from a humble bundle but Cat Quest was a free EGS game.
I discovered Parking Garage Rally Circuit on TechDweeb. I was lucky and waited long enough for a bundle. youtube.com/@techdweeb

Cat Quest 2 or 3 if co-op is a requirement.
I hear 2 is a longer game but 3 has better QoL features.

Parking Garage Rally Racer. Fun little racing game with retro 3d graphics.
Also resumed playing Cat Quest. Simple Lite-RPG where you can leave it for a year and come back to.

“Valve doesn’t have a take it or go fuck yourself agreement” with memory vendors. They have a “Get fucked and go fuck yourself anyway agreement.” - Gamers Nexus
- Comment on New web app can make Valve's Steam Controller drift across your desk like an RC car — web app drives the gamepad using its rumble motors 1 month ago:
There can only be one input device.
- Comment on Valve is so behind on Steam Controller orders that some won’t ship until 2027 1 month ago:
People that require a controller for their living room pc are the target market. Or those that want to prioritize inputs over anything else.
Otherwise, there are many cheaper alternatives. There are also many more premium controller out their.
Scarcity may have saved you from holding a awkward symmetrical sticks controller with two giant trackpads that need SteamInput to be useful.

Big fan of Control and this is great news. The Paranatural Manhattan trailer has me very interested. (youtu.be/NvncU_SQO5Y).

Yes, sorry. It is Case of the Golden Idol. Thanks for the correction.
- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - June 2026 2 months ago:
Fae Tactics and LOK Digital are the new ones.
Most likely will not finish either game.
- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - June 2026 2 months ago:
Hope you find it an enjoyable experience. Make sure you play with headphones.
I found Curse of the Golden Idol gave a similar hit as Return of the Obra Dinn.
- Comment on Steam Deck back in stock, with higher pricing 2 months ago:
I blame everyone except for Valve. Smart cars, AI, Smart TVs. Anything that has memory or SSDs. I remember when things got cheaper as they got older, not the other way around.
- Comment on [Discussion] How well does playing your Steam Deck docked work for you? 2 months ago:
Works well enough using PS5 controller on 3rd party dock. Only issue is that I will have to delete the Bluetooth controller on SD and pair it. Probably because I use the controller on PS5 and PC.
Quick Access Menu can be accessed by pressing PS button + X. Hope this helps someone out there.
- Comment on Valve just published two guides on how to get the most of the Trackpads on[ your Steam Controller or Deck 2 months ago:
Virtual menus are a blessing when playing modded Stardew Valley as you quickly run out of physical buttons.
- Comment on Steam Controller: Reservations open May 8th 2 months ago:
I’m hoping the amount of users crashes the reservation system. Sorry, I’m salty about not getting one.

My eyes lit cup when you mentioned the Vader Pro, but I was left with disappointment due to the lack of dual trackpads.
- Comment on Anyone manage to order a controller? 2 months ago:
Too late to catch the Steam Deck rush but just in time for the Steam Controller one.
- Comment on Steam controller price 3 months ago:
$100 based on Joy-Con 2 price since I guess Nintendo has a good margin on those. Should be more than basic Xbox controller. Also more than a PS5 controller because Valve does not have the component buying power of Playstation.

Thighs vs Watermelon has to be my favorite. The level of awkward stares during a couch co-op session on a Steam Machine 2 will be memorable.

Damn… 🙁 It’s more expensive than Streets of Rage 4. The sweet embrace of my backlog for me.
