Some companies are trying to move core features under their closed source umbrella
This right here is why I fucking hate Google. They aren’t closed source per se but why the fuck didn’t they make Chrome OS just another Linux distro. They could have made a whole desktop environment usable on any other Linux distro. But no why give back when they can just take and take and take. The only time they give back is when they contribute to the kernel but that’s just for them

- Comment on [Game] Doom the Dark Ages will not run well on steam deck at release 5 weeks ago:
They already have a patch to fix it in beta. And I refuse to accept that. AAA companies need to learn to optimize their games if they want people to buy them. It’s gotten so bad that a lot of new games run like shit on the PS5.

I think it plenty powerful. Games are just so unoptimized it’s disgusting

- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - May 2025 1 month ago:
Been playing the hell out of Haste.
I love endless runners and this does have an endless mode, but the main story and levels I’m loving more than I thought I would. It’s an amazing game. I came in with low expectations and was blown away

People overlook how important software support is and with the deck you’re getting that. Plus the much larger user base for guides, parts, and community support.

Sounds like they just made shit software that’s unoptimized

You don’t need “mobile” optimization. Just regular optimization. I’m sick of games getting worse and worse
- Comment on AMD FSR4, Why it Could Be Good for the Steam Deck 2 3 months ago:
I’m done with AI upscaling. We’ve literally went back in time. New cards release advertising 4K only with upscaling when we had 4K on the high end back in 2018

Just completed it.
Honestly it blows my mind they would run windows on a device like this in the first place.

Yeah see that’s what I’m talking about. No thanks.
I’d rather pirate it so there’s no extra crap running on my PC

But once I download and play an EA or Ubisoft game won’t their launcher still be running in the background even with this? Just like on steam

Fuck I was so excited for a minute. I thought they were finally giving up on their shitty launcher but they made a fucking new one.
I love battlefield, but I don’t play it because I’m not have another fucking launcher.
Same with Ubisoft. I love farcry but I don’t play it because of their stupid fucking launcher.
GTA I wanna play more of but they have a stupid fucking launcher.
If your game is on steam it shouldn’t ship with another launcher.

You know the other night I got high and thought. “I wander what other countries learn in grade school. How their propaganda is different from ours” and now all this is going on.
It’s wild how we can connect with people from across the world but our world leaders try their hardest to make sure we don’t.

I’d checkout komiikku (think I spelled that wrong) but personally it’s my favorite manga app. I installed Linux on a phone just to use that instead. It’s on flathub

Have you seen what valve has been doing over the past like 13 years. Of course it’s going to be Linux.
- Comment on Handheld consoles are the industry's next battleground | Opinion 6 months ago:
Honestly good. Graphics now have honestly gotten so bad with efficiency. We have hardware 10x more powerful and games that run 20x worse and have artifacting from forced TAA. Not every game but a lot are looking less clear, more blurry, with way better textures and resolution but just simply run like absolute shit. And for what? best example I can think of off the top of my head is csgo to CS2. Looks a little better yeah, but going from being able to be played on a core 2 duo integrated graphics to barely running for me when I had 16GB of ram and an rx 5500 that’s crazy. It doesn’t look that much better to run that much worse

Ever since I was a kid after seeing BMO in adventure time I’ve been obsessed with this idea.
A console with an AI that will make new games to play when it’s plugged in and not in use. Then you can favorite the ones that are fun and it will scrap the rest and make more games. One day I hope
