What if it’s used for RPGs where you define a NPC and the generative AI is used so you can naturally speak to the NPC? Dialogue choice is too limiting. I don’t mean Server farm level of LLM just stripped down locally ran in game LLM for dialogue only. That’s really all I want in a game, I want fallout that is immersive.
Palworld dev Pocketpair, famous for making wholly original games, won't publish your game if it uses generative AI

Basically the Mantella mod for Skyrim then? Which, if I’m being honest with myself, is a massive leap forward for procedural games in the future.
I mean just imagine walking around town and literally having a real conversation about current goings-on in the game world with an NPC, like they’re a fully realized person within that world.
This video by one of my personal favorite YouTubers is imo ab excellent breakdown of just what it is and what you could do with it.

A guard I can ask for the way, but who actively does not know everything and is not a glazer that tries to be likable.

Good

Good, more developers should take that kind of stance. I might just get this game out of moral obligation.

The title is tongue-in-cheek about Pocketpair, since they’ve been accused of using AI to basically rip off Pokemon designs.
There’s no proof one way or the other, but their stance, if it’s legitimate, is respectable.

Thanks for explaining that, the remark certainly went right over my head. Lol
