RIP Animate, formally Flash Pro. Was my tool of choice in the mid-2000s.
Oh man, Flash was the best!
I made movies, commercials, websites, and games, all with one app.
Adobe really stewarded it into the ground though.
Memories. The moment Adobe brought it, I stuck to the last version made by Macromedia made for as long as I could.

Subscriptions suck. Have always sucked.
I note one of the recommendations from the article is still drumroll subscription based while the other one is a one time purchase.

I guess Adobe will be the tools of corposlop and the rest of us will have to find other stuff to use, luckily I started that process some time ago. It would be sweet if Red Giant and BorisFX ported their video FX to Linux tho.

Good thing Blender Grease Pencil is a thing then. That it happens to be free and cross-platform is rather nice too.
