  Honestly at this point I think it would be best for MS to split off Xbox studios and hardware completely from MS. They obviously don’t know what they are doing with it.

    This is largely because Xbox only exists because Bill Gates liked video games. Ballmer also liked video games and had been around under Gates so he was willing to float Xbox through the 360 era but the whole thing came out of Gates’ obsession with getting Microsoft into the living room in the late 90s. It was at least the 3rd attempt after Web TV/MSNBC and TiVo. The people who are left at MS don’t know how to deal with a passion project and only know how to take money out of things, this is the result.
