- Comment on Valve Adds FSR 4 Directly To Proton Experimental and Steam 1 minute ago:
If I recall correctly, they specifically said that FSR 4 would be coming to RDNA 2 systems early next year.
- Comment on Microsoft reportedly only announced Ninja Theory's new game at Summer Game Fest to try and attract a buyer for the studio 4 days ago:
This is largely because Xbox only exists because Bill Gates liked video games. Ballmer also liked video games and had been around under Gates so he was willing to float Xbox through the 360 era but the whole thing came out of Gates’ obsession with getting Microsoft into the living room in the late 90s. It was at least the 3rd attempt after Web TV/MSNBC and TiVo. The people who are left at MS don’t know how to deal with a passion project and only know how to take money out of things, this is the result.
- Comment on Motorola phones have started hijacking the Amazon app to insert affiliate codes 3 weeks ago:
In the article there’s a link to an updated article, where it is revealed that this particular bit of code wasn’t done by Motorola but a third-party company. And that the affiliate link wasn’t Motorola but some random fashion influencer, I’m wondering if something was done under the table here without Motorola’s knowledge.
- Comment on Group Pushing Age Verification Requirements for AI Turns Out to Be Sneakily Backed by OpenAI 2 months ago:
I would also question the second part of their name as they have only produced one kind of ‘AI’ software as far as I know, as opposed to say IBM who’s various AI implementations have beat chess masters and won Jeopardy.
- Comment on Windows 11 is finally killing off legacy printer drivers in 2026 — and it’s going to shake up a lot of older hardware 4 months ago:
They haven’t changed the plumbing for printers since Vista, the changes they made then are part of why it took until 7 for things to work correctly.
- Comment on Dell admits consumers don’t care about AI PCs 5 months ago:
For what it’s worth an NPU is why your phone could tell you that photo is of a cat years before LLMs were the hot new thing. They were originally marketed as accelerators for machine learning applications before everybody started calling that AI.
- Comment on Most Played Games on Steam Deck for 2025 5 months ago:
This is absolutely untrue. Most people can see the 60hz strobe of the US electrical grid. This is why cheap night lights seem to flash.
- Comment on Want to avoid AI gen on Steam? This browser userscript might save your day 7 months ago:
I’d rather play an ugly game with crappy art made by a human. I genuinely don’t understand this “but it isn’t pretty” mentality.
- Comment on Child sex abuse victim begs Elon Musk to remove links to her images 9 months ago:
I don’t have time to visit the hospital right now so why don’t you check it the separate Wikipedia articles yourself.
- Comment on Child sex abuse victim begs Elon Musk to remove links to her images 9 months ago:
I wasn’t being pedantic, It’s an important distinction. You don’t have to think so though, you don’t have to be rude about other people’s opinions.
- Comment on Child sex abuse victim begs Elon Musk to remove links to her images 9 months ago:
Not the Internet, the World Wide Web. But yes.
- Comment on Coinbase CEO explains why he fired engineers who didn’t try AI immediately 9 months ago:
Often yes, but not always.
And, bonus HP douche.
- Comment on Nintendo bans Switch 2 owner after they played used Switch 1 games — decision eventually reversed after 'proving innocence’ 11 months ago:
Nintendo tracked the UID to a different Switch in a completely different geographic location logged in with a different account tied to a different bank card and still bricked it. Even Windows licenses aren’t that much of an asshole.
- Comment on Market research firm International Data Corporation estimated that between 3.7 and 4 million Steam Deck had been sold by the third anniversary of the device in February 2025. 1 year ago:
It’s interesting what different companies consider success. Apple sold far more iPhone Minis in 3 years and yet the phone is considered to have no market.
I wonder if other companies entering the handheld space, like Lenovo and Asus for instance, will see numbers like this and bail like they did last time they tried Steam Machines?
